ADS floorstanding speakers (have an 8" mid range driver and a tweeter) paired with some sub (didnt get a chance to get the name) Bang and Olfusen Beogram 5500 CDP (couldnt find the remote) Bang and Olfusen Cassette Player (forget the model # but it seemed like it was mated with the 5500 CDP) ADA PF 200 Power Amp (US built) Perreaux PMF 1150B Power Amp(New Zealand built) some kenwood cdp...looked like something from bestbuy. might be wrong on this though. some surround sound processor. didnt catch my eye. might be able to get all of the above. only brand ive heard of is B & O and i know brand name usually doesnt mean much in terms of quality. if anyone has any experience or knowledge regarding the above, id appreciate some guidance. all gear is in 9/10 condition with about an inch of dust. nothing a few cans of compressed air couldnt fix. i dont know about the working condition of the gear but all of it powered up.

i dont know if this is something feasible but just a brain fart. how about 2 sets of audioengine a-2's (4 speakers)? should be $400 shipped from jr.com. run them from the onboard sound card (if it does more than stereo) or just buy a cheap sound card that does 5.1. there are plenty available on newegg for less than $100.

i wasnt aware of that policy either when i shacked with them.

i only meant to say that this sudden influx of estat amps started when the bhse started gaining steam. since justin dealt the first blow with a big time stat amp, ray and jack had to release something to counter the offering from headamp. either that or 3 big names in the headphone amp business releasing stat amps one after the other or within close proximity is one hell of a coincidence. imo justin set the bar and now the others are trying to reach it. regardless, its a great looking amp.

woo audio certainly know how to make some tasty looking amps. dont think ive ever seen an ugly woo amp. wonder what justin has started here...bhse followed by a10 followed by wes.

the beta should drive those drivers beautifully. once finals are over, i hope to get to listen to the speakers once again but for now they remain neglected =/ i wasnt sure if the finish of the port was in question or whether the question was if it was just an opening or a port. i certainly did rush mark for the speakers as i wanted them to be a birthday present. given the constantly changing time lines i gave him i dont think he could have done a better job. once school starts again(in may) mike, you are welcome to give the pair in the first post a test run with your beta if you want to listen to them for a few days. i would be very surprised if they dont sound every bit as good as your system audios if not better.

thanks vicki and morphsci. only gear i have left is the parasound dac and the 650s. a job as an actuary is one that i might want to pursue later on so im going to try my hardest to work overtime and impress the folk there. given that i start on may 15th, i dont think that they will appreciate me taking a day off just 2 weeks after i start making canjam attendance an impossibility.

not really. i figured if i kept the reasons out of this post unlike what i did with the plantation meet thread, i would get a lot less grief. i got an internship with ncci in the summer. that combined with school pretty much makes it impossible to leave FOR ME. other people in my shoes probably could pull it off but i dont think ill be able to.well all that and the cost of the whole trip is prohibitively high for me. i was initially going to use miles from my dads account but a roundtrip to cali is the same number of miles as a roundtrip to india and i think my dad would rather keep the miles for that even though any and all trips to india blow ass.

doesnt look like ill be able to make it now (not that it matters much). hope everyone has fun.

would have been true if i were getting less efficient speakers but at 96db sensitivity i only need a few watts mike. a legendary speaker is in the making. for something that cheap im sure it does what is required. why not get that gainclone john woven has. he hinted that he wanted to get rid of it. would be cheaper in the long run and im sure it would do the job. ps. why not use the t amp you got in your office?

just found madisound.com to be like 2 dollars cheaper. any other places i should be looking?
