  1. ^^^ Late to the party but I think you'll like the TRX a lot. By all accounts its way more stupid than anyone needs but pegs the fun meter at 10, as long as you don't mind something like 10mpg. Me - CEL came on in the BMW. Code reader says it's related to the engine running too lean. The interwebs say it's like a dirty or failed MAF sensor or a vacuum leak so I'll start tomorrow by cleaning the MAF and resetting the code and going from there.
  2. Happy belated, nums!
  3. @Gilmam - post the sticker from the power supply? I'm not sure if we're talking "brick" here or more complex. I could read above but I'm tired. Also, just because the unit isn't powering up doesn't mean the PS is dead. Do you have a multimeter?
  4. I have to say that I've been hugely impressed by the little Breville Bambino (I guess technically I have the "Plus" but they didn't call it back then). It's dead simple to use and my taste buds tell me it produces as good or better shots/drinks than my local coffee shops with precious little effort. It's just one piece of at least a three-part chain (coffee, grinder, brewer) so buying it or any other decent quality piece and failing at the others does you less good than setting yourself up with good or better pieces at each point. As this thread has shown, you can clearly invest a lot more and I'm not arguing that the results aren't better, but I've hit a nice sweet spot for me that doesn't drive SWMBO insane. That's my 2c.
  5. I know @The Monkey is too cool for school these days but that doesn't mean we can't wish him a happy birthday!
  6. Sweet, can't wait for some pics.
  7. Looks freakin’ delicious, Al.
  8. @luvdunhill - was thinking some more about the meter pic posted above and the "hidden" nature of the needle, how hard or accessible is the needle and would some whiteout or white paint be an easy solution to make its position more visible against the black backdrop?
  9. Happy Birthday!
  10. Happy birthday, Mikey!
  11. Happy birthday, Chris!
  12. Sorry about the seizure issues, Jeff, but the crate looks really nice.
  13. Thanks for posting that Doug, I don’t get enough art in my life these days and that was a touching piece.
  14. Before launching it somewhere definitely get some batteries for the volt/ohm meter and check the fuses the right way (not visual) as one or more of them could be shot and you just can't see it. It'd also be good to check to make sure power is actually getting to the amp and then see if it's getting beyond the switch (like Kevin suggested) and then check a few other things. Hard to imagine that it just went poof one day without any sign/smell/etc.
  15. Second this and the fact that evidently similar issues happened at the same show two years ago...
  16. If you can, inspect the solder joints at the tube sockets. I had a power amp develop a cold joint at one and it cause enough of a problem that it cooked a trace on the PCB and pretty much rendered the unit a total loss.
  17. No, that's helpful. For now I'll carry on with my existing Baratza which to my (likely uncultured) taste buds does just fine for both espresso and French press. And while I appreciate the offer of a manual grinder, I'm clogging the kitchen with stuff as-is and would be unlikely to put it to good use. I'm slowly bringing myself around to the thinking that keeping things that I don't use is useless.
  18. How difficult was the retrofit to the Ode, Jacob? Approximate cost of the different burrs? Any concerns with maintaining calibration sufficient to do espresso with it. I waffle between espresso and French Press mostly (have no patience for pour over, sue me) and while my current grinder is definitely adequate, should anything happen I’d likely look to upgrade a bit.
  19. Since it appears to be a problem on the input side, maybe try some RCA/XLR cables or adapters so that you can bypass the potentially faulty RCA jack?
  20. ^^^ What he said. Weeks is but a blink of an eye these days. Me - fudged up a.little programming which coupled with minor machine error almost conspired to kill my progress. I managed to salvage their piece with tolerable errors and suspect the owner/recipient won't notice or care. Onto finishing.
  21. The East coast ping pong table is up and running again. Retirement plaque for the Public Works Officer.
  22. LOL at Tim Cook's Toilet Paper.
  23. Condolences to you and your family, Todd.
  24. True, but it's a dog crate.
  25. Did you? 🙊
