  1. I'm going trip to try to find a summer camp position for housing and money while I study for a few certifications in IT is what I am going for. I have to decide on a place to live come July currently.
  2. I traveled to a friends for a get together to play Catan and stay the night to be in Raleigh in the morning. I went to the coffee shop in the AM for food and caffienne where a large group of fifty and sixty year olds made me feel old with their passionate arguments about movies and the extremely small fontsize on their laptops. Then I went to a free homebrewing class at noon. Then I went to homebrewed Raleigh for food and three hours of homebrew tastings. When I left, I was talking in front of the courthouse with a lady who was having hard times while watching a bridal party taking pictures. Soon, the grooms party came after the bride left and it suddenly started raining. I said goodbye to the lady and gave her the half a soft pretzel I had with me. The grooms party was worried about the rain and looking for a way to get to the church, so we all piled into my truck and got them there. I missed the homebrewers panel, but on the way back I called home and told my mother that I was planning to resign from teaching and making new plans. I'm enjoying a nice beverage now, it has been a surreal day.

  4. Oh man. Jacob, I hope you can do whatever it takes including switching medication, etc to avoid that happening again. Glad it wasn't a stroke and that you were able to manage to ER.

  9. Cheers Doug! Happy Birthday!
  10. Actually, some I've read the 2010 wasn't really that bad, just more bourbon flavor made it boozy. For me, Its either that or the buffalo trace, I'd probably choose the Heaven Hill myself.
  11. I have the EC 18 50/50 coming to me right now and its got the white wax. They may have only put the 20 yr old in kegs (think they only made about 50 gallons of it total from reading up on it.
  12. Nice fridge! and amazing collection there. I am probably planning to go cheap with a temperature controller and decent sized chest freezer soon. I shipped my first two beer trades on BA today. More stout will be here soon.
  13. Anyone have an opinion on the best barrel aged version this year? Right now I'm leaning towards the Elijah Craig 12 yr. Wish the 18yr could have made a return.
  14. Anyone going to be in California to receive these delicious brews?
  15. I was able to Skype with a good friend tonight. That made me smile. Last night, I was drinking outside the bar and the CEO of Stone and Shawn from Fullsteam brewery came by and complimented my tee shirt. I thought that was cool.

  21. What effect would freezing alcohol have on its taste? Anyone want to try this?
  22. I have the plastic ice cubes from Amazon. Yes, they work fine. I do love the idea of making ice cubes of the drink itself. Makes a great surprise too when someones on the rocks its more than expected. Upscale bars need to do this. I have done dry ice in drinks too. Works fine, just don't let it rest on your lips or tongue. Better yet, just save it for halloween and use something easier and reusable the rest of the year.
