I do think the Apple monitors have better quality control and style then Dell's IPS monitors, just can't justify the price. For non-profession photo editors, that typical response time is double that of contenders and would not be good at all for gamers.

I went over 3.5gb last month on the Droid X without much tethering. The holidays probably had something to do with it, but its nice to not have to worry about. I still wouldn't dare try torrents over a contract phone.

As someone who teaches band saw safety, I can safely say that scared the shit out of me to watch. He basically broke every safety rule there is and I kind of expected him to not so magically disappear a finger or two.

Depends on how much you love AT&T's service. That data cap is a mother of fuck. But yeah, that is an amazing looking device.

The Big Phone Trend – What do you think?- Women With Droids Swype is the best touch keyboard I've ever seen or used. Better then a physical keyboard in my opinion.

Maybe because you have an iPad.

We should be getting something nice with 2.3 gingerbread on the phones however, so no worries. I bet when I get a new phone in 2012, the hardware and software will make my phone look like an oversized cell phone from the 80s. I like 4.3" screens myself, but agree the size is not for everyone. I can't imagine going to a display smaller then 4" now for a smartphone. Funny how AT&T is going to now have the high-end android phone and Verizon will have the high-end iPhone now. Verizon's ego seemed to inflate three sizes this week as it decided it no longer need NE2 and a thirty day return window (or maybe Apple had a say in that). I've been waiting on something portable and nice to use OTG and as a HTPC at home, but Android OS is still held back by format support and fragmentation so much, I'll probably get a AMD fusion cpu based netbook instead of one of something like the XOOM still. Tablet is sweet, but have little use for both an Android smartphone AND tablet.

Oh wow. Anyone notice the Razer Switchblade prototype using a touchscreen LCD under the keys to make the back-lit keyboard? Change the arrangement and font of the letters for something pretty attractive (unlike the keys in the picture, heh). They also change into icons! cool.... http://www.engadget.com/2011/01/06/razer-switchblade-preview-3g-intel-oak-trail-almost-definitel/

http://www.engadget.com/2011/01/08/nox-audio-admiral-touch-preview-the-wireless-noise-canceling-su/ Yo dawg! Do not want. Android music player is pretty bad and I know of no good apps to bypass its audio handling.

Sounds like a great idea. I don't trust pepsi with any of the information they want... so I'm using google voice to send the text. Just letting other people know in case they are like me.

A new condition OG Droid is common to find for $150. Now if you don't mind buying one with an ESN ban out of a white van.... $100 shouldn't be a problem.

That really will change soon with all the android devices. You can practically go buy an android smartphone now and not use a provider.

Want. Can I buy those as black light posters?

I was tempted by the 5450 which is even slower I believe then the 4550 for both that reason and the bitstreaming of DTS and True HD, but couldn't justify upgrading my oldish 3450 card I put in when I first built my PC since I don't really need that ability and my PC sits between 35-45 dB already I estimate. I jumped on this in case I actually get a craving for need for speed or something, never know if I'll get bored in the summer or something and if I decide to sell it in the future. The double lifetime transferable warranty is nice.

XFX Radeon HD 5850 Black edition. I don't play games really (yet), but Hulu I suppose will look really nice now.

Tweaked iPhone 4 parts discovered: an antenna fix, Verizon's iPhone, or the best KIRF ever? -- Engadget

x2 on the ouch Mike. I guess they stuck you with the felony charge. The cruise control idea works for me although I always set it 4 miles above the limit. Today before work I stuck some "white ice" plastic cubes in the freezer that I had washed and left out to dry and am pondering when I will be ready to best enjoy my new collection of whiskey and bar glasses I have sitting back home on the counter next to the humidor. I need to fax Mike a double.

I've heard a lot of students repeat the rumor that the iPhone will be coming to Verizon in 2011. Today a student reported that their dad, who works for Verizon, told them that it was going to be announced on January 6th. Like macrumors, have a hard time believing that Verizon will be allowed to announce it at CES before the 2011 early apple event, so I don't know how much stock I would put into it. I will be watching for the Verizon CEO Keynote speech that morning however.

Help Putting Together a Fanless PC
manaox2 replied to dsavitsk's topic in GoRedwings19's Computer Help Hotline
Yeah, so far I have been addicted to the media features of my Samsung LN46B50 TV. It has pretty great media functions, but VC-1, soft subs, and MKV with Flac are its major downfalls. I've gotten tired of OCRing the .srt files and dealing with the its specifics about supported format in such and such container when its supported in others (wtf?). Its also a little slow and can only jump forward and back on MKV insteak of forward and rewind and its widgets are also utter crap. I want a power efficient PC, because I don't have to deal with such bullshit.
