When it is a process that involves tactile feedback (like lens polishing) it's pretty much a done deal that by hand is still the way to go (or at least that's my understanding). here are a lot of things where humans are just better and there are a lot more where they are not...

General thoughts on dCS, Aesthetix?
Stretch you may want to send a PM to Filburt. Think he had some words on the dCS ring DAC design.

And now what did you do TODAY?
Spent the weekend at the new house lake which was very successful in that we got lots of stuff done. At the same time it was unsuccessful in that a lot of other crap did not get done. The dryer we had delivered turned out to be too big and in need of a propane conversion kit. Lowes took it back for free and we ordered a new smaller electric unit which will mean we now need to get a electric hookup run. Now I just need to arrange for for other people to do stuff and pay them. I'm tired.

Cool stuff. I'm not sure if I like or hate HDR imaging.

Sorry Ken. That's horrible.

Want. My ER4P seem to be unbalanced and having a certificate proving to me that they aren't would be cool.

Hurricane Irene Takes Aim For East Coast
I'll put one on the probably buy sometime list but for right now it's not really justified as the most water we've ever gotten is a couple puddles (of course the working sump pump probably played a role in that).... I'm currently hemorrhaging cash to get the second house setup and it's not high on my list but I've added it to my some day task list.
- Happy Birthday Tony!

How big of a battery did you guys do for a sump pump? That is a great idea.

A gas washer/dryer combo on clearance from Lowes for $815 when list was over $1100 and it even came with free weekend delivery. It was a good day.

Thanks for the feedback Nate. I was looking at the S95 or the SD4000 IS and I'm leaning towards the IS just because it's smaller and cheaper. That said the S95 does look sweet and the image quality is better.

So what's the ruling these days for a quality point and shoot that's still small etc? My wife wants something with the baby coming.

Power's out at the lake house but it is otherwise unscathed. I turned the fridge off and opened the doors but didn't think to throw the breaker so the fridge lights will be on for a week
