Great! Glad things worked out. That's a very short stem but maybe as you get more used to it you can stretch out a bit. Odd that the pedal type made any difference but maybe you were riding 0 float cleats on the Keo. I ride the 9 degree float ones.

I know quite a few people that use the Dura-Ace/Shimano pedals and love them. Very similar to the Looks in the end though.

Mike, those covers are keep on covers and don't need to be removed. That's the point. I was trying to be as even handed as possible. I personally still prefer my Keos but that's probably familiarity and the fact I'm used to how they clip in and I do like that I can walk into my house with my shoes on. That said, starting from scratch and with those covers the Zeros seem to come out ahead because of the fact they have double entry.

Jeff, that reminds me of the one negative on the speedplays is that the cleats cost a bit and do wear out. They also are a nightmare on hardwood floors. You can get these: http://www.keeponkovers.com/Product.html

Jeff I would be very surprised if they didn't sell them. That said once engaged they are all about the same. The adjustable float on the zeros looks pretty cool. I tried them once but the difference was not noticeable enough for me in use to justify the switch. I may have gone the speed play route if it worked out differently but now I have 5/6 sets of keo pedals.

Look Keo max are great pedals. The blades that I have are a bit better but not really worth it. I would recommend waiting until the fit for the pedals because you may have some float requirements but I doubt it. The Keos you just change the cleat to change the float. Speedplay pedals do have the advantage that you can use either side of the pedals so they can be quicker to clip in.

Went out for 2 hours of riding in the neighborhoods south of town. I stopped to take a picture at the top of the Wilson bridge. If you look carefully you can see the Washington monument and Congress. The weather was glorious and I was in bib shorts and short sleeve jersey in December.

Vicki I am lucky in that I lose it pretty easily. I am able to subsist on very few calories, especially considering how tall I am. It is not easy and I feel faint a lot but I do lose. I am also cursed in that I am able to put on weight so fast it will make your head spin. This past month has consisted of gaining 7 pounds, losing 5, gaining 5, losing 5, and gaining 5 again, I'm on the losing again but I am going to have to work to keep it going.

Jeff's bike is no slouch either. Those R5 Cervelo bikes are sexy and very fast. I think you made a great choice with that bike once they replace the saddle with something of suitable width. Thanks Vicki! I am on a diet too. I am aiming for around 20 more lbs lost by Xmas but I don't know if I am going to get there. I have basically stalled for the last month. Should be interesting to see what I can do at 180 or there about.

An R5 is awesome. Push them to give you a deal on a compact.

Jeff, Yeah it attaches to Four Mile Run which attaches to the George Washington Parkway Trail. It's about an hour for me to that point on the trail. Drivers really aren't that bad or at least it seems to me. Maybe I've just gotten used to it. I ride the trail for my long rides because it keeps Meaghan from worrying nearly as much. Did they fit you or you riding your old fit?

Nice! What size is that frame? I see from the build list it comes with a 53/39 and you may want a compact. Well actually I'd recommend it. I'd be up for meeting you on the trail at Shreve Rd or similar. Or you can come over here and we could do some riding around here (sorry I don't know that much around you that doesn't involve a lot of uphill).
