  1. Happy birthday!
  2. That's just mean. Hills are fun though. Mountains are less so. When the climb takes more than 15min it really starts getting awesome. Making plans for a 3 day self guided training camp in San Diego next February and I am already getting excited. Hoping for 3 rides in the next 4 days
  3. Cervelo is great stuff ride wise according to everyone I have spoken to that has one. Fresh Bikes is a good store. You should see if you can ride a Super Six there as well. Don't know what deal they are giving but I would also try the Giant TCR Advanced with ISP, they have the great advantage that they can't slip.
  4. I may just take you up on that sometime
  5. Jeff I'm not a fan of the Trek stuff, I prefer Cannondale, Specialized or Giant. In particular how they handled the issue with snapping steering tubes a few years back that caused some pretty horrific crashes was not cool. That said that's a great build kit that will serve you well for a long time and a great price.
  6. In. I hope you guys like bike crap
  7. We get separate computers for research and NMCI computers. They realized that getting people to do computations on NMCI was not tenable. Dan long term I think I'll get sorted out with cluster access etc but right now I'm spoiled by not having to sit in queue etc.
  8. Happy Birthday!
  9. Good luck Dan. Those things can be a pain in the ass. I am and I am not looking forward to figuring out how to buy a high powered workstation within the Navy purchasing system. I will miss my blade server here at work that meant that I didn't need big iron at my desk.
  10. Glad you found something that worked for you! I'm jealous that you're able to try stuff on, I'm a size 13 and it's not ever in stock...
  11. Nice looking bike. I always wanted a Kona back in the day.
  12. I vote 7. I for each day I'm over my personal issues
  13. Sounds good. I was just letting you know in case you wanted to try and figure out the fit while you were still incapacitated. All it takes is a level floor and a tape measure.

    Deals

Their CFO stole a ton of money but it turns out that they had plenty of financial strength as it was more stealing money than fixing books so the profits reported where after stealing etc...
  15. The reference to ground is actually to correct for the variation in BB height which we can't control. I'm sorry I should have worded it better. You can't get those numbers to match. I should have said "Using those measurement numbers you can get the fit to match". What we want to match is: Height of saddle tip off ground - Height of BB off ground Height of top center of handlebar (near stem attachment) off ground - Height of BB off ground Length from BB to tip of saddle (I assume you'll put the same saddle on both) Length from BB to top center of handlebar Length from tip of saddle to top center of handlebar Edit: And yes the relation to the BB for the saddle and handlebars are all that matter to fit (as long as saddle is the same and crank arms are the same length). Bike handling is a whole different story but fit wise the bikes would be identical (well unless you care about the width between the pedals too, which is a concern for some).
  16. Happy Birthday Bryan! Hope you have a great one.
  17. Vicki, very excited for you, don't mind my teenage pettiness. What measurements did you do? It's funny but the geometry can be a bit counter intuitive on bikes which can lead to issues. When fitting my Calfee I was convinced that I seat tube angle was wrong until I realized the seat height was off by about 8cm and that was making everything else crazy. My recommendations are: Height of saddle off ground Height of BB off ground Height of top center of handlebar (near stem attachment) off ground Length from BB to tip of saddle (I assume you'll put the same saddle on both) Length from tip of saddle to top center of handlebar Length from BB to top center of handlebar If you could get those for your current bike and match them on your Calfee your fit will be identical. The only difficulty in general is if the saddle has to move too much and you need to get a different post and more commonly the need for a new stem for the handlebars. I hope it works out as the bike sounds like an incredible deal.
  18. Yup but not a brand new to them one. I guess I'm still the only Dragonfly
  19. Nice Vicki! Good deal Not going to lie, bit bummed to not be the only one with a new Calfee at the same time I'm stoked to not be not the only one with a new Calfee.
  20. Here it is: http://www.roadid.com/p/the-FIXX-ID We'd have to see if they'd add our logo. They did it for my club NCVC but I'm not sure if there is a minimum order etc. There are other much cheaper options that look pretty good: http://www.etchplus.com/dogtags.aspx
  21. So are you guys still interested in something "Head Case"? I was thinking a Head Case Road ID would be cool. The only type they do custom art work on is their dog-tag version. I also found a bunch of cheaper dog tag options with custom art work. Any interest? I could probably organize it. I'm less interested in the jersey because I have to buy at least 1 jersey and shorts a year anyway through my club. That said if someone chooses to setup an order I'll probably buy one.
  22. Ben wakes up for a feeding most nights around then and I couldn't get back to sleep so I pulled out the Nexus 7 and read some Head Case and the news. This happens a lot, I'm usually up for about an hour, not a big deal for me though. I knew someone would call me out on it
  23. Sorry Mike. I appear to have been let down by Chrome on my tablet because when it rendered: http://2013.handmadebicycleshow.com/about-nahbs/nahbs-award-winners/ It put things in the wrong spots (it is still rendering it wrong, had to take it to Skyfire) so I was just quoting what I saw there. I should have wondered why the format looked weird. Still stand by my personal impressions. Anyway sorry for my confusion. I guess I should have used an ipad
  24. Click on the model then on the right hand side there is a list of types, click on those and you get a pop up with the geometry.
  25. Brent I had read that and I have seen lots of posts of amazing paint jobs on Calfee bikes but I don't think you can judge the quality I am talking about from pictures. I probably spent about 5-10 minutes looking at every detail of these bikes at NAHBS (Calfee only had a repair, tandem and bamboo bike) to come to those opinions. I probably spent a total of an hour drooling on the Ellis that won best road bike.
