NY Fall Meet
Indeed, you are not wrong.

What did you do today?
Mmm, lemme know when it is done.

Audeze LCD-2
Nope, gotta get around to trying the O2 pads. Dont really have any other pads which seem suitable, though I wonder if AKG pads would work, as the mounting looks very similar.

NY Fall Meet
Yup. Those are sockets for the optional input phase splitter, as apparently it cant work with a SE source otherwise. It was a great meet, well worth the 8 hours in the car to hang out with the gang.

Audeze LCD-2
I never liked the YH-100, either my own pair or NoNoNoNoNoNo's modded pair. I dunno, I REALLY like the HE-5, actually agreed to buy it today. Didnt try a Millett with the Audez'e, but my normal Max was a bit bass light with the 25ohm HE-5. Easily could be a function of the 470uf output caps, so if I were going to try it, I would probably go for at least 1000uf there. I much prefer my l'espressivo.

Audeze LCD-2
I actually was quite surprised by how much I preferred the HE-5. I dunno, I just found the LCD2 to be muddy and congested, too bassy, and hot, heavy, and uncomfortable to wear. There were two pairs there, one with solid leather pads, and another with leather/velour hybrids, kinda like what the HE90 does. Alex mentioned it isnt done yet, about a month off or so I think, and that the cable was going to be removable and connect by mini-xlr (balance-able, not like some of the AKGs).

Introduction And Some Questions
More to the point, what is the benefit of seeking the opinions of others, once one has already purchased all of the equipment they are going to for a while. Seems a bit backwards, buying and then asking.

What did you do today?
Great. Not another word about them until then.

This is going to keep me amused for the rest of the day. Just lucky I wasnt actively drinking soda when I read it.

What did you do today?
What does the math say about how many seconds after 8am Tuesday morning it will be until you can afford JH13? Congrats though Brent. Hopefully you can make it turn into even more.

digital or analog cable more important?
Warning, does not compute!

What are you listening to Part Two

Lower distortion too, since less excursion for a given spl. Of course, what you are asking about is a line array, and there is a lot of available reading material on that subject.- 2009 HC Holiday Gift Exchange
I'm in. Expect something...different. I dont do any of this hi-rez nonsense either.- Digital Inputs
At least you can measure it.- Audeze LCD-2
Prefer fullsize headphones to in ear ones? Half the retail cost, and probably able to be sold for more. Not convinced on the absolute superiority of the JH13.- Digital Inputs
BNC, because I can.- digital or analog cable more important?
You figure most DACs use ASRC these days? No idea really. Also, many sources will use a series ferrite bead to suppress EMI for FCC compliance reasons, even though that EMI is really just upper harmonics making the sharp edge of the wave.- Post the last thing you bought!
Misc parts from MPJA, and 10x NOS 6J52p tubes.- The Menace
Or if you decide to use a resistor string off B+ to bias your heaters, you can just put an LED in series with that. I will see about asking them to send one to Florida. Assuming, you know, I havnt bought one before then.- digital or analog cable more important?
1. Slow rise/fall time, which can influence the decision point (jitter) 2. Yes, different connection types can have different jitter, which may matter to the sound. Depends really how the DAC gets it's clocks. Of course, toslink does have the advantage of complete galvanic isolation. Coax may, depending on the use of pulse transformers. - Speaker Porn
