Funnily enough Apple has made a lot to make the present to look a lot like 1984 by giving a screen to everyone.

After some deception watching last Scorsese's movie (I truly wish it's not his last one) I started: Slow Horses (season 3) Great show indeed.

I moved from Tidal to Qobuz like 5 years ago, no regrets. My reason was mainly the MQA fraud, I wanted lossless not a downconversion of "high resolution" lossy MQA. Whatever, to the point. I use Audirvana on a Mac which allows you to preset the buffer that you want to use before the music starts. I didn't have any issues neither with Tidal nor with Qobuz. Older Audirvana versions can be found. If you're a Windows user it's possible that Foobar or other audio programs that can handle online purveyors did the trick for you. The other option is using the pre-download feature, as Grahame suggested.

Hearing loss after a defined acoustic trauma requires urgent study and if confirmed, it has a treatment (which may work or not) that seems to be more effective the earliest it's implemented. I wouldn't get any hearing aid until the hearing loss is confirmed and more or less stable and permanent. Forgive me but I can't understand what kind of a big POS you have for health care. Some conditions require assessment at the earliest. Sudden hearing loss is one of them, no matter the suspected cause.

Dusty, you need your hearing checked asap if you haven't done that yet. I'm sorry for this condition, protect your hearing from loud sounds. >90 dB(A) is too loud.

Happy Birthday, Todd!!! I wish you're having a great day indeed.

If I had the muscle to afford it, I'd buy this very print: https://www.magnumphotos.com/shop/collections/elliott-erwitt/16-california-1956-california-kiss/?sku=PRINT-ERE-PLAT-PAR11118-30x40 It's been featured in many LP covers, like this one by Fairground Attraction A great photographer and artist. I find puzzling that after such a long life and thousands of photographies, it can all be resumed in a set of rather few pictures.
