  1. Birgir: Snorri is my wife's favorite writer as well. She has a certificate in Icelandic sagas, and we used to talk about how wonderful a system it was where you could kill a man so long as you left your axe so everyone knew it was you. On a side note, Mevlana Rumi does not get my vote.
  2. Hey old people: Why invent all this stuff and then bitch about how it exists? Thanks for the internet, though.

Of course. One would hate to miss out on those stunning 120 dB peaks...

Those look like big Pass X250s driving those magicos. Since the sub is powered, that man is using oodles of Pass watts to drive a series of compression horns that are probably 90+ dB efficient, even with the crossover. It is, in effect, like strapping a rocket on a jet. Awesome.

    ooooohhhhh prettty.....
  6. My wife is the hard ass at our home. When she leaves, the dog gets spoiled like you would not believe. I will be a terrible father.
  7. Aimless -- move on out here to Denver. We have ways of dealing with glaucoma.
  8. I think he's just dark skinned, Larry. Ohhhhhhhhhhh, you mean her.

    Pdf is already enabled.
  10. Oh man yes. That's also where you end, if you're smart
  11. Interestingly, 7 is running more stable than XP in my parallels partition (used only for PlayOn). In that immensely limited capacity, I'm pleased with it.
  12. Man, these are rough days lately. Brent, I'm really sorry to hear about your loss. Fitz, your finger is lousy news, and Duggeh likely deserved it.

I can't know until I hold one, and read reviews by people more informed than me, but all this open support out of the gate looks extremely promising. This will very likely replace my Sony PRS-500, which has been a faithful companion for years.

Also, it supports eReader and ePub right out of the gate, which is incomparably useful. I'm sure the B&N books are in a proprietary format, but that doesn't really matter when the open formats are supported as well, unless you're (reasonably) afraid of losing all your purchased content later down the line when Barnes & Noble is swallowed whole by the beast.

Depending on the landlord, it's the 1st-5th. Bring a pocketful of twenties.

This seems like the appropriate place to inform you all of the Barns & Noble Nook. Comes out end of November.
  17. Very true. So, I suppose it is more correct to say that Miles' Mood would have fallen somewhere between total apathy to mild interest. I would prefer to donate money directly to his chasing the dragon, though, without giving Noel Lee a cut.
  18. Miles wouldn't give a shit. I am confident of this.

I've been to BJs. "Civilized" is a term looser than a BC psych major on rent day.
  20. no FW is a deal breaker.

Clearly she was also a woman.
  22. You warm the cockles of my heart, Greg. Now if only a few more of you were hot coeds.
  23. Ambient vent decreases isolation for performers who want to hear their screaming fans. When I had a regular gig on stage, I'd wear one ear in and one out to replicate this effect. If you won't be using it as a stage monitor, it's probably not a good idea. I think the isolation is a benefit, but my screaming fans are long gone.
  24. listening to my JH13 out of the Moth right now -- it does not suck.
