  1. Sorry to hear that you can't make it. Have fun down south!
  2. Any chance you could suggest one? Thank you.
  3. Don/t use metal cases they will kill your reception. I had a bunch of cases and this one best and the cheapest nice case of them all, made from mill spec thermo resin, same material they using to make their mill toys. http://store.magpul....duct/MAG451/125 I have green for almost a year and looks like i just got it, buy two same shipping.
  4. I just don't get at all what is the hype about. A $100 DAC in parts should sound like a $300+ DAC, that’s about how much commercial equivalent DAC would cost. If you invested $100 in parts and it sound like $100 then you been ripped off badly
  5. I know about the load and was absolutely sure that I tested it under the load. As you can see it’s the original KGBH board and not KGSSHV but the + 15/-15v sections are almost identical so it should not matter really in my case. To make long story short I was having problems with the amp board which eventually lead to problems with PSU. My old 7915 regulator, do not even remember which manufacturer, was working fine there before I screw it up. So after trying STMs I thought that my input voltage a bit high for this particular regulator. I am really glad to look dumb stupid now , if not this thread I would put the project on hold again. Now everything looks like working right, all I need is to find time to powder coat my panels and put this beast together.
  6. I just trashed four STMs (511- L7915CV). They all gave me between -18 to 19v output. I am going to try OnSemi (863-MC7915BTG), it has output noise only 90uV vs. others 250 - 350uV.
  7. I booked a room for our next meet. The room can hold up to 75 people. 8. Sooner or latter he will stop looking and start begging for HELP.
  9. I have one for at list few months. No drop outs with mine, as soon as it connects usually few seconds, it works fine. I am using iD100 with my iphone4. It does not work with 5.5 gen ipods. It should work well with 7th gen, so I as soon as I fix mine 7th gen ipod I will find out. Also I was really impressed with video quality streaming netflix via iphone4. The picture looks almost like DVD, very nice! Very pleased overall.
  10. Just got Genius SP-HF500A for my wife They are 8" nice looking wood speakers and sound really nice. At amazon they called 14watt wood speakers and the price is $40 + free shipping. Best $40 ever, you won't regret it! http://www.amazon.com/Genius-31730918100-Watt-Wood-Speaker/dp/B0041QBAIA/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1328217298&sr=1-1
  11. I would wait until the paint is dry, sand it all off until the surface is smooth and paint it all over again.
  12. Is there such thing as a male version of the socket pin above? The one you would use to make stax headpnones plug?
  13. Cool picture from wiki " whiskers growing out of surface-mount resistors"
  14. Just cut them out flash on both sides of the board.
  15. My shipping estimate was $12 for 30 pieces shipped to Virginia US. if you can't wait untill mouser have them back in stock please pm me.
  16. I think that $1.99 not a bad price if you need only two dozens. Thanks for the link, I am going to buy these. Taking in to account possibility that mouser could increase the price a bit after they got them in stock, plus mouser have a tendency to push availability dates back further.
  17. So this is the new "good deal" price I guess, or is it still possible to get them a bit cheaper? I"ve seen price up to $6 already . Thanks for the link!
  18. Rodrigo, Just checked mine connector. If you try with just one pin inserted in to the jack, the headphones plug pin goes in and out very smooth. With all the pins installed the plug goes in about 1/3 of the way without resistance, after that you have to apply force and the jack's cooper pins start pushing the cable plug pins appart. To me it looks like the pin holes a bit far appart relative to each other.
  19. Thanks for the link! And I though I have the best stuff - pinkish High Performance Isolators that I got from Marc a while ago. ;-)
  20. Rodrigo, what kind of thermo - pad is that? looks a bit thicker than the normal ones. thanks
  21. Try to drill a small hole in to broken tap and then push hard with a star screwdriver that just a bit larger than the hole and try to unscrew it, It works on screws.
  22. I think this shuttle is much faster!
