November 19, 200718 yr comment_67887 My Rihanna - Umbrella Remixes CD is here! The "Seamus Haji & Paul Emanuel Club Remix" sounds really good with the KGSS > HE60. Ella, ella, eh, eh, eh Report
November 19, 200718 yr comment_68012 Hmm, I don't get the fascination. It sucks. That monotone voice is quite annoying, I think she shows a one octave range. Woo. Stab my eye with a hot poker please. Report
November 19, 200718 yr comment_68025 They made one version 9+ minutes long? Holy shit, I think I'd rather be water-boarded. Report
November 19, 200718 yr comment_68028 I can't stop listening, somebody help, please. Are you sure you're not confusing her obvious female attractions with anything resembling good music? Report
November 19, 200718 yr comment_68029 Billie Holiday didn't have much more than an octave range. Sorry, I've never heard her performances, so that reference went right over my head. Listening to it again (killing me gently), it's not the lack of range, it's the manufactured feel of the performance, the false repeatable vocal breaks, for instance, the lack of feeling. But, hey, if it works for you, more power to you. Report
November 19, 200718 yr comment_68033 Are you sure you're not confusing her obvious female attractions with anything resembling good music? It's the ballet shoes and the "on pointe"....with a trapeze. Hmm, that might work wonders in the bedroom actually. Report
November 19, 200718 yr comment_68034 seriously? Yeah. Sorry. I'm really not into jazz, I find it mostly boring and I can't get beyond that to even listen to vocal performances. It triggers me into a narcoleptic session and I can't define anything in that genre as being great...because I just can't listen to it. Report
November 19, 200718 yr comment_68037 Probably that "soft jazz" they used to pipe into my office on a tape loop allll daayy everyyyy daay. It made homicidal. Report
November 19, 200718 yr comment_68039 Yup. Basically, you can't hear jazz listening to the radio, on an elevator, or in a coffee shop. Very little of what gets sold as jazz is interesting. But good jazz is so far from boring that you can't really even get there from here. As I mentioned in another thread, some of the experimental jazz has more in common with punk rock than it ever would with kenny g. Report
November 19, 200718 yr comment_68045 So, what is jazz? Aside from Billie Holiday. And what's so close about jazz and punk? I listen to some punk, albeit pop punk like Lagwagon. I'm more into death and black metal, which does have a montonic vocal representation. Name me some that's like punk and I'll go buy some today. I'm on vacation with an arm length list of honey-dos, and a really pissy mood because of it. I'd rather go peruse Rasputin now. Report
November 19, 200718 yr comment_68077 So, what is jazz? Although not strictly classified as jazz get some John Zorn. Pick a random album if you want. But one of my favs is Electric Masada 50th Birthday Celebration Volume 4. Report
November 19, 200718 yr comment_68157 Billie Holiday didn't have much more than an octave range. But Billie Holiday, um, doesn't suck. Report

November 20, 200718 yr Author comment_68611 Yes, I've watched a downloaded Umbrella video, but the video or photos aren't the reason why I'm listening to this song. I don't know the reason. I'm listening now with the KGSS>SR-Omega. I feel so happy and I can't stop wriggling my butt. La la, la de la la, ella, ella, eh eh eh, it's pouring rain... Report
November 20, 200718 yr comment_68614 http://members.tripod.com/vermontreview/Interviews/shipp.htm I read that interview. What's strange is that I seemed to live next door to him in NYC, at least from where he said he lived. Don't remember him, but years could be different, though time frame seems the same. Report

November 21, 200718 yr comment_69292 Not the worst song ever, but it basically takes tracks like "Let the Music Play" by Shannon, or perhaps "2 of Hearts" by Suzie Q, and revamps it. Somewhat. Maybe a little bit of New Order thrown in, but not that good. It was okay, I give it a C+. Report
November 21, 200718 yr Author comment_69310 Thank you for the recommendations, I'll go find "Let the Music Play" and "2 of Hearts." Report
November 21, 200718 yr Author comment_69311 I found "Two of Hearts (Extended Mix)" by Stacey Q from the disc "Dance Traxx Vol. 2" in my library. Report
