January 14, 200818 yr Yeah... just remember until you are sure that it is fixed, don't touch it with both hands... one hand only. And make sure you have shoes on, and not on bare concrete, etc. The meter set to volts (AC) with one lead in a wall ground, other to the case would be pretty safe, as long as there is somewhere on the case that you could touch the one lead to without having to open it up, etc... could just go to the interconnect sleeve.
January 14, 200818 yr You sure this isn't just bad static electricity? when i used to have a powerbook back in college, i used to get this thing where the case would vibrate, and i couldn't figure out what the fuck it was. turns out that the powerbooks/macbook pros have a grounding issue when you don't use the three prong power adapter that comes with the laptop. check it out here i got the same thing with the dac-ah the first day i got it. after listening to it for about an hour, i noticed that even though i had turned it off, that it had the electric vibration. needless to say, it was a bit stronger than the ones i noticed with the powerbook. same thing happened the second thing i got zapped, except this time it was when i was touching the interconnect.
