September 14, 200817 yr HD650s: If there's any downside to this headphone, it might be a tendency for upper mids and especially highs to sound analytical at times, meaning the HD650s occasionally expose rough edges in records that other phones would probably gloss over. Seems to be contrary to many user reviews.
September 15, 200817 yr I really like the format that they used and RS-2s definitely have dynamics, I have no idea what theyre talking about
September 15, 200817 yr Must have been a reviewer that had lost hearing in the upper registers. The shrieking highs of the 880s and the screaming sibilance of the Proline 2500s didn't phase him a bit.
September 15, 200817 yr They're not what? The picture is actually of the D-2000, unless the D-1001's look exactly like the D-2000.

What's even funnier is that I have hearing loss in the upper registers and I find those headphones to be unbearable.

September 15, 200817 yr HD650s "up close and personal", and getting a 9/10 for dynamics? Those be some magical HD650s he's got there.
September 15, 200817 yr Didn't notice, but then really didn't look. Hmmm, that's surprising. I thought you loved the D-2000's

September 15, 200817 yr She does. They make great cat toys. Ahh, good point. Her techs do need their practice.
September 15, 200817 yr Maybe he should make a list of what he was smoking when he reviewed each set od cans.
September 15, 200817 yr I've always thought I could hear all the details just fine with mine. But I dont find them analytical. They can do loud, they can do soft, so they seem dynamic enough. The bass got a lot tighter and controlled when I upgraded my amp and source.
September 15, 200817 yr My only complaint about the DT880 is the SHZHZZZZZZZZZHZZHHZZ. Other than that they're are not too bad.
September 15, 200817 yr i agree. not quite enough bass, too, but they're headphones, whaddaya want? The bass was not bad for me, but I greatly prefer my qp55x to the dt880 though.
September 15, 200817 yr ewwww. i bought a pair of those, when they were cheap, too. Really? What didn't you like about them? I like them better than my AKG K1000.
September 15, 200817 yr seriously? it would be easier for me to say that i like about them, than what i don't like about them: they make sound. I'm just curious though. Please tell me what you didn't like about it.
September 15, 200817 yr it was thin sounding, soupy in the midrange, the soundstage was... ambiguous, had no impact, and was bright. that's from memory. i gave them away about 2 weeks after i got them. swapping some well used beyer pads on helped with the impact, but didn't help with the rest. i was running them from my Capitole Mk II to either my MPX3 running 6BX7s or a Zana Deux, so i don't think they were particularly underdriven. it is a distinct possibility that they were overdriven, and under burnt in.
September 16, 200817 yr no, those are regular ol' 650s. not his fault you can't hear worth a shit. This calls for a /b/ reply but I can't be bothered to google one up My opinion of the HD650 is the exact opposite of that. They have no major flaws besides being dead boring.
