Cleaning Pad Residue from my Grado

Featured Replies

Received my RS-2 a few days back, the previous owner used GS1000 big bowls with them which fit very tightly and left an annoying residue around the inside edging of both cups. It's a very minor concern, but I was wondering what I should use to get rid of the black gunk?

Hmm... I hope that wood is durable enough for the hammer. Do I just lightly tap it or give it a solid smack?

What I find works best is to start with a 12 lb sledge, and go lighter as appropriate. You have to be careful to let the hammer do the work tho, don't swing it so much as let it drop on the cups. It's delicate work.

Damn, that chisel and hammer idea worked wonders.

I considered it, but it felt a bit too liberal of a solution, ya know?

what are you, a Limbaugh fan?

If by "fan" you mean that I think he's a fucking quack, then yes I am a "fan".

If by "fan" you mean that I think he's a fucking quack douchenozzle, then yes I am a "fan".

I can confirm that generally a baby's butt is often not very clean.
