Bobby (the cat pictured in the beginning of this thread) was put down a year and a half ago. Skye (companion I got for Bobby in 2014) got sick the next month. I fed her through a feeding tube and saved her life. But not fully. She passed away a week ago. In my hands. I was heartbroken. She made this trilling sound -- like a pigeon cooing -- all the time, to get my attention. It was always very insistent. I heard it today. I started to respond (I make a version of that noise in response, to let her know, "I hear you."), but then I realized I will never hear that sound again from her. My heart broke all over again. RIP Skye (2014-2026)

Thank you, guys. If you all have any advice, I will admit I have no idea what I'm doing -- I'm all ears.

Looks like they are Canadian, québecoises. I searched it because the guitar fretboard seemed weird, too many frets. It’s microtonal, but probably not all the range.

Let's put build quality aside, the permanent 100V offset, non floating heaters chewing up tubes and some other "minor" issues... they did produce enough volume for a normal listening session.

wiring the filaments together for the output tubes causes all sorts of trouble. essentially a differential output amplifier with no differential cathode resistors resulting in what should be infinite gain, except not. current sources for the output tubes sure seem to be a 6ca7 with a dn2540 or similar as a cascode current source. first time i have seen a tube and solid state together as a current source. and the input tubes wired as differential amplifiers do not have anywhere near enough gain should a chassis like this show up, i'm absolutely sure i can make a megatronxl custom board fit. edit: this is the current source CCS Circuits | Tubelab
