  1. A buddy of mine has been working with Winston Ma from FIM on a book about the "golden era" of Decca Records. During the last 18 months he has spent a good deal of time in the UK picking the minds of the folks who were involved with recording some of the most loved classical recordings of any era. Decca: Supreme Stereophonic Legacy was published and has been officially released. The 2 volume set includes 4 hi rez CD's. http://www.elusivedisc.com/Decca-Supreme-Stereophonic-Legacy-Ultra-HD-CD-Box-Set-4CD-Book/productinfo/FIMUHD088/

  2. Three Floyd's ramen. Poached egg, seared bacon, braised mustard seed, pickled radish and scallions. It very much did not suck.

  3. I was thinking how strange it was proving the point of a high res/"100% music" ecosystem with Momentums.

  4. Chili on corn bread waffles with finely shredded cheddar, over easy egg and fresh pico de gallo. It were delish. Oh, almost forgot - a glass of Bully from the Wine Dude. No suckage here.

  6. Did the Patapsco Epic 25mi ride today and it was definitely EPIC. At the safety briefing they warned that it was more difficult than both the NoVA Epic and the MoCo Epic, and I don't doubt that at all.Lots of climbing with roots and rocks on both descents and climbs. Needless to say there were plenty of sections where I was hiking a bike. I also just got a call from my friend and apparently I won a Diamondback bike from the raffle. I guess it was worth toughing the ride out http://www.strava.com/activities/178482248 fun stuff like this:

  7. First they make sour beers, and now ramen? Are they trying to make me come visit again?

  8. Ha -- there was Kyrie, Is it Love, and Broken Wings. Still - not great songs.. but they are in my lexicon.

  9. Ate way too much as the South Lake Union block party burger competition yesterday. Had one of each of the burger offerings, plus a bottle of water.

  10. Some more record listening/sorting.. A nice Brahms set.. I liked it and will keep it.. good performance of #3 and good dynamics on the recording.. Changing Gears a bit with Voodoo Suite - I am a little torn on this one, not the greatest recording or condition - but it is sure interesting. May stick around for a bit. This was a little bit of a find for me - This early Diahann Carroll (59) record turned out to be really enjoyable and well done. This BTO was in just too bad of shape - got it a long time ago from a friend that did not take care of LP's.. gone... Getting into the 80's for a bit... This Noise Works from Australia was pretty good. Kind of a .38 special vibe with other stuff thrown in - It was well recorded and was well played - but nothing caught me on the album. Not that it was boring - just not inspiring to listen to again for me ooph - way too 80's. Not a real instrument in the house. And these were the Mixes. Did not make it to the B side. I don't care what you say - I like me some Mr. Mister. On the better side of the 80's for me. I remember liking the Outfield, but didn't know this much. This Trio from UK has some U2 features to them. But I found myself knowing every song. I must have listened to it more than I thought back in the day. An older recording. Just does not have the life and liveliness that I really want in this show. Thanks Amoeba I will not see that $4.95 again.. A live show (show 2). That was pressed for broadcast. It is hosted by Jim Ladd. Good recording of a German show - just a little too compressed - and rolled off at the high end. But as a Yes Fan. It is nice to have in the set. (It says to return after broadcast - I will do that as soon as I broadcast it) Know all the songs - like all the songs.. Thought - old crappy pressing, will not hold up.. Wrong - it sounds really good. Turns out to be an original pressing - and a good one. Record was not taken care of - but should clean up well in the VPI. looking forward to listening to on main rig. What they use to sell as an 'import' - This bootleg Genesis has some good performances on it , but it is just not recorded well enough to listen to much more. That being said I did listen to 4 sides (you have to guess which ones)..

  12. Found an Ardbeg 10 bottled in 2007. Already confirmed that this is Mikey-approved.

  13. Had the catfish meunière a few hours ago. I refuse to rinse my mouth. Probably one of the best meals I've ever had. The gravy was licked off the plate. Just fantastic stuff.

  14. Indeed! But then a little bit of doubt and skepticism should not only make you get a better grip on reality but also help your wallet, I guess

  15. If anyone is interested in writing an article for InnerFidelity that provides an overview of this subject, why someone might want to do it, and provide some resource links, I'd be very interested. Thanks.
