  1. Work is really slow today. Let's play with some 18 year olds! Laphroaig 18 (48%) vs. Bunnahabhain 18 (46.3%) vs. Springbank 18 (46%) vs. Longrow 18 (46%) Notes: If I were to rank them, I would probably go Longrow > Laphroaig > Bunnie > Springer. The Longrow was the most memorable and the most drinkable. The Springer was forgettable and I would easily pick the 12 year Cask Strength over it.

  2. Resurrection! The stealth 6's came in today, have been playing for a few hours. Here are my purposefully bland impressions meant to temper my excitement. They are very black and very stealthy. But they are huge. The ribbon tweeters appear to be very much working. The woofers sound like they are producing bass. I've been listening for a few hours straight now non stop. The speakers are filling my room with a lot of sound. WAF.

  3. Events #46-48 today, with 43 to go, 19 of which are for multiple hours. Still a wee bit of room on the schedule, but not much. As Warren Zevon once sang, "I'll sleep when I'm dead."

  7. Mikey' crackers (rosemary, parsley and pepper) and his homemade mozzarella were both awesome. The other two cheeses were great too but the homemade touch was very cool. Claire makes a mean spaetzel and it went well worth sausages and kraut as always.

  8. We have not had cable in our house since we bought it (about 2 years). I do not watch much TV, but everything I want to watch (Daily Show, Colbert, How It's Made, and other science-nerd shit) is covered by Hulu and Netflix subscriptions. So we are at about $75 a month total for that at a 54Mbit/s (speedtest measured) connection. We catch most stuff after the fact, so cable is no big deal. Oh, and I always haggle annually with Time Warner over the price. They always want to jack it up after the "promo" period is over. Fuck that. I'm nice but firm. Hell, I think we are paying less this year than last for a faster connection (if you can believe that)

  12. Pulled muscle and quadrupling the dose of meds I had him on, plus a heating pad... seems that's about all that can be done. I took the time to try to get my APAP (FINALLY), as the place I was going to go through was just 30 seconds down the street from his doctor (they're 25 minutes away from the new place). Well, after multiple phone calls to insurance and the center, I find out that the former employee started the authorization, never finished/submitted it, but filed it under "Done." It take 7-14 BUSINESS days to go through, too. (This was supposed to have been started on 11/14). Needless to say, I wasn't happy. The sleep center people apologized profusely, and are going to work on pushing through a rush order with insurance to get everything approved. Yep, that's about how it goes. Xavier, however, seems to be in good spirits and is being a trooper. **BRENT**
