Good luck with getting back on the bike.
I am in Barbados for Christmas and got my old aluminum bike out and ready for a first ride of the trip tomorrow. It will be slow but it will be nice to get out. I'm not going to worry too much about cycling fitness until the spring after work gets less insane. Of course our third child is due in February so that may be spring 2016...
I'd actually like to stay way south of the city and stay in maybe Carlsbad or some other spot. Hit the meet for a day and then do brewery tours in San Diego and some hikes or cycling
after 2 years or so of constant weeks of 100 miles I stopped riding after a medical procedure in Sept. Damn if you don't reset back to zero quick I'm pretty much starting allover from scratch. Lucky that it comes back quick.
Raffy would laugh his ass off at me if we rode today
btw cuts and nicks are pretty easily avoided with technique. With a modern cartridge razor we've all gotten accustom to using too much pressure in the grip and push down on the handle forcing contact with the blade/face. A double edge really just needs contact without much or any pressure other than the weight of the razor.
First time I shaved I looked like I fell into a plate glass window and as I lightened up on grip/pressure the shaves are completely cut free.
