I went to the thrift store and there was nothing cool there until I saw this on a bottom shelf... They were asking 20$ with stickers that they were unsure if it worked so perfect for me. This is a PSU for Mackie mixing desks with a super long umbilical cable which I have removed. Heavy fucker too... at least 10kg. Healthy output current so the idea came into my head to use it as a bench supply should it work. After some cleaning it looked ok with no bad caps or any visible damage. Just look at that monster of a transformer. So I turned it on and well it worked so this was next: No current limiting here but hey, this one was cheap so who cares. Also I can test large class A amps with this beast.

I find that compression is a bigger factor in quality to me than resolution - I'd rather watch a 1080p Blu-Ray than a 4k Netflix stream any day. UHD Blu-Rays though... oh man. Planet Earth II in UHD does... things to me.

It pays to be patient with such things. At least in my case it did...good luck with the next one Our offer on an apartment was accepted and a signed contract was returned earlier today. Now comes the process of applying for the mortgage which I am really really looking forward to...Have already had three different loan officers try to pull the "this math is very hard - let's move on" card. They didn't like their inaccuracies creative liberties being pointed out.

I'm sure all of that is true, Nate, and 4K will likely be the next TV that I buy, but for now I'm glad I don't have to replace the plasma.

Ozark on Netflix. With Jason Bateman and Laura Linney who are excellent but maybe the younger co-stars of this crime drama are stealing the show. Loving it so far.
