The sane take is it fills a big gap in their Pro product line and the prices are reasonable for that segment of users -- but if you want one at home to browse the Web, you are an idiot. I therefore rule nothing out.
  2. If growing up in certain parts of the country and you liked cooling off on hot summer days with ice cream at a Friendly’s, you should know its co-founder, Curtis Blake, just died at 102 (his brother, the other co-founder, is still going at 104). Ice cream diet here I come. https://www.nytimes.com/2019/05/30/obituaries/curtis-blake-dies.html?smid=nytcore-ios-share
  3. Not sure if anyone would have any interest, outside of maybe Steve and his apprentice, but the new neighbors brought over a blueberry pie and full photo documentation of the build of the house. What was sold as and listed for taxes as a 1972 home with renovations, would appear to be a near complete tear down and new build. Note the sweet green fridge in many of the pictures and the worker riding the chimney like a bull before it collapsed through the floor into the basement. They tell us the chimney was going to be the only thing kept, until that. House Build

  5. I heard from a little bird that amd won a next gen super computer deal so their gpus should be getting significantly faster soon.
  6. I know, right? There’s actually quite a bit in the stoner genre. Also check out King Buffalo, The Devil and the Almighty Blues, Soen, Octopussy, Leprous, Birdstone, Methadone Skies, and Half Gramme of Soma...it's about one in 10 on that channel, which is still pretty high, and those are just the standouts (to me, anyway, you're welcome to find your own). I get most of these from the two Stoned Meadow of Doom YouTube channels. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCknVpWR6m2Ijzkqo-aPXs_g https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCkqjcQwTNvsxQWT44N6ESrA
  7. You'd think men would have figured out the beauty industry drives women crazy and learn from their example – it amplifies, reinforces, and preys on their insecurities. Nearly finished this one: Hitch-22 by Christopher Hitchens

  9. Karen and I "Met the Fokkers" last night. Our son Andrew has been pretty serious with a wonderful young lady he met at college. The great news is that her family lives 2 towns over from us, so they can see each other easily outside of the school year. Amy is going for 8 weeks to special program in Kenya this Summer, and she and Andrew thought it would be great to have the parents meet. Simple dinner at Bertucci's, but it was very successful, we enjoyed the company and chat very much. It helps that the father works in IT like me, has a slightly similar sense of humor, and looks just a little bit like Peter in Family Guy ? It just felt very normal and pleasant, and the fact that it was the kids' idea made it even more special....
  10. I found this LP at an used record store here in my city. The Moody Blues "Days of Future Passed"
  11. RIP Murray Gell-Mann, the guy who won the (unshared) Nobel Prize for particle physics symmetry and the Quark. A genius from an early age, he won a place at Yale at the age of 15 and graduated at 19. A full Professor at 29.
