In the Sun – Jane Monheit Looking forward to trying this DualDisc ? in my Sony UHP-H1. Seems to work ok in an external LaCie DVD-RW drive with the MacBook, but it's probably reverting to lossy audio (Dolby Digital 5.1), not DVD-Audio.

Toroidal transformers are not completely symmetrical, because of the wire exits. The usual way of reducing hum induced by the asymmetry is to leave the leads long (or solder on temporary extension wires), loosen the chassis fixing and rotate the transformer to minimise or reduce below audibility the hum. Then tighten up the fixing bolt and tidy up the wiring. Also make sure that the primary, and secondary wires are twisted. Open wire loops can induce hum and buzz in signal circuits through simple transformer action.

Thursday Olympic fencers from Italy, France, Czech Republic, and possibly Mexico along with two olympic coaches will begin arriving for a week and a half training camp here at our club. Lance will be fortunate enough to be able to fence with some of them to get himself ready for some upcoming national tournaments. We will be hosting the Christmas eve dinner which may end up being pretty huge. Shits about to get real.
