  1. Meant to post a pic of the whole cake, last Saturday made a snap decision last week to bake my dad a carrot cake for his birthday.
  2. Probably should have cast his brother Randy, who has experience with aliens.
  3. Not nearly as rare, but any mention of Road Runners requires me to mention my favorite family car (random net photo) from '74. I miss Plymouth.
  4. I always find something interesting...usually too many...at the Texas Mile. This one really caught my eye. It's a real deal (edit: superbird...it's a plymouth) and they had done a lot of fabrications work to get it to this point. Certainly not the fastest, but listening to the owner and builders love for it was really cool. And, big arse waaaaang, as my buddy would say. Not my thing but pretty nifty... HS
  5. My first car. Not the exact car, but the same, even in color.
  6. Beautiful, blessingx!!!! One day…I’ll own a B-body restomod. One day…. HS
  7. Did someone say Batmobile?
  8. That oven design doesn't look very useful for making syrup.
  9. Hey! We are still at it!! Announcing the Third Annual Walk for Belonging from Communities of Belonging in support of Second Chance Month... I still serve on the board of directors as both the Treasurer and Secretary, along with IT guy and 'how do we do this?' guy. (donating over 1400 hours last year - yeesh) A few highlights of the year: We are now in 5th year of providing restorative housing to formerly homeless and formerly incarcerated individuals. Offering them a safe supportive environment. We continued weekly Community Meetings - now totally over 300 gatherings. Received approval as an FCS provider (Washington Foundational Community Supports) that will allow us to expand our services to the broader community. Published our new website, and continued to expand our videos on our youtube channel. Along with making many new connections with partners and other providers. On April 20th we are holding the Walk for Belonging at Green Lake in Seattle. Yes, I know that 4/20 is Earth Day and Pizza Delivery Driver Appreciation Day, along with other connotations. But, we really like this as a day for our celebration. We have setup a GiveButter page and I have established a Team. I always hate to have to ask for support, but you guys have been so generous in the past to me and our cause. You don't have to register if you are not in the area - "No thanks, I would just like to donate" is an option. https://givebutter.com/Walk4Belonging24/michaelmaddock I will be walking in memory of Les (bottom left of the collage). A native house member that died suddenly at the end of last year (12/26). It was a huge loss to the house and to all of us in the community. Many thanks for reading - and now back to music. Cheers, Mikey

  15. Sexy ass car! I miss muscle cars.
  16. Being a fan of the b-body (charger/cornet/road runner) it is always fun to see a 'bird in the wild.
  17. Also Sadat, though honestly, I'm still thinking of Jacqueline Bisset. EDIT: Just going through his IMDB page... Bonanza, Alias Smith and Jones (a Head-Case favorite!), Mod Squad, Love American Style, Good Times, Six Million Dollar Man, Police Story, Roots, etc. Man, he was everywhere.
  18. - thanks for the reminder. I have been thinking about it for a while - also been waiting for the rain and snow to let off a little bit. I will start looking at designs and figure out the size. I think what I really need is a vest with a bib thingy built in..
  19. I'm mixed on this, it's horrible on one hand, but at the same time Hamas hides behind civilians anyway, including in or near schools and hospitals....even firing weapons from those locations into Israel. I will always support Israel, but this (really Netanyahu and his actions) have me questioning SOME of that support. I truly wish there was another way to break out Hamas from the civilian population and deal with them separately. One thing that does provide some comfort is that a big group of Israeli's want him out, and have been protesting in some very large numbers. Even members of the military have been organizing against him (not as a coup, but in protest). What I have not seen is any Palestinian civilians protesting Hamas government. Maybe they can't in fear of violence or death, but that also says a lot to me (before the fallout after October 7th, who was more oppressive to Palestinian civilians?). And many of those civilians cheered and spit on corpses of murdered and raped Israeli's being paraded through Gaza.
  20. A floury bake, I was not going to let it stick to the basket like the last few times. A basic combo of whole grain. sifted wheat and oat flours. The starter is becoming more healthy as the temperature is slowly rising around here. It does use up a chunk of propane to run my little oven for 2 hours but chomping on fresh baked, naturally leaven bread slathered with Kerrygold butter is totally worth it.

  26. One of my past customers, who has become a friend, owns a bookstore in the City, near the ocean. She called me this morning to tell me that her reader is sick, and ask me if I could fill in. I had expressed my desire to do so a few years back, while I was remodeling the bookstore. I got here a little while ago. Early, because she has a coffee shop in the bookstore, and the coffee is phenomenal. As I was catching up with her and the employees about 75 kids have come in and settled in the big back yard. I'm really excited, but also pretty nervous. I don't know the material at all. But they're kids. I could screw up pretty bad, and still fake my way through it, hopefully! OK, I'm up in 8 minutes. Wish me luck! Oh, and Maki is here keeping all of them occupied and having the time of her life!
