  1. Barbers English Vintage Cheddar - so creamy and delicious! Why haven't I had this before?
  2. Finished Season 2 of Newsroom. I really liked that show.
  3. Sorry Brent! Hope the the icing and anti-inflammatories help out.
  4. That sucks Brent. Like others have said, if you think you might be having a heart attack, get help.
  5. Good news, the RCA connection on the Quads seems to fine now (maybe it was just the XLR connection that was having trouble). So I've given my friend the A5s in my office to make room for the Quads. Everybody wins (until the Quads stop working again or I decide they are too huge)!

    Gas Dryers

Yep, no new gas line. Just hooking up to our old line and connecting a vent (he did provide a new vent). He seemed to have a list of prices and quoted us for something that wasn't actually installing a dryer because they didn't have that on their list. Fuck, I really hate dealing with this kind of stuff. It is really stressing me out because I feel that I should do something but I really really don't want to do anything more. Plus I'm really stressed out about a trip (to a conference) I have to take next week.

    Gas Dryers

We've used 2 plumbers since we bought the house. This was the reasonable one that we used in the past. The other one was always completely ridiculous and that is why we didn't use them! In TX, the delivery guys do installation I believe. I just don't trust them. We've done a couple of loads and it seems to be getting quieter or maybe I was just super sensitive to the noise at the beginning. I'll give it more time before calling LG. It is drying perfectly as far as I can tell. These new dryers are so much better/faster than the one we used to have (which was ancient). Crossing my fingers.
  8. Auction sounds like a lot of work. I'm with Nate.
  9. They should make them in clear enclosures!
  10. I saw that but there are open box there.
  11. I wonder if they are winning a bunch of awards because of being an all-in-one with a DAC.

    Gas Dryers

So after paying $1000 for the dryer and getting ripped off by the plumber ($400 to install), we now have a dryer that is working ok but seems to be making a funny noise. The dryer is super quiet when it is not heating the air. However, it sounds like our furnace (maybe not quite as loud) when it heats the air. I am not sure if this is normal on the new gas dryers and if I should call LG. Our previous dryer was so loud all the time that there is probably no way we would have heard anything. The vent is new (we even did the airflow check on the dryer), there is air behind and to the side of the dryer. I hate dealing with this shit.
  13. What about the KEF x300a (on sale for $599 at KEF direct)? Anyone heard these? I don't really need the DAC in them but I assume you can bypass the DAC (I should check). I'm guessing they aren't a great buy if you don't need the DAC. http://www.kef.com/html/us/showroom/digital_music_solutions/x_300a/x_300a/index.html#.U-uL3YA3I1c
  14. I don't really want to have one more set of cables in my setup (which is why I would like do without the passive volume control). I could also just fix the quads (which is probably easier). I am not sure what is wrong with the AE5 but I guess I couldn't make anything worse. Maybe you need to visit again Colin. For each... The Stealth 6ses are really really tempting. They may be a little bigger than I am looking for (on my desk).
  15. A friend of mine has a pair of Audioengine 5 that stopped working. I don't think he can afford to get new ones right now. So I was thinking that maybe I should buy a new pair of speakers for the office and offer to sell mine to him really cheap (he really liked his pair). The Emotiva 4 I have at home are great and the new ones (4s) are presumably just as good and look nicer. Anything else out there I should entertain with a similar budget? I don't really think I need the 5 or Stealth 6 as my office is not that large and I can't crank up the music. Has anyone tried the new Airmotiv 4s/5s? I am a bit concerned that the Airmotiv 4s don't have volume control since I have to have the volume on my source (Benchmark DAC2) really low if I have the volume on the Airmotiv 4 all the way up (as they recommend).
  16. Definitely fucked up. Rest in peace Mr. Williams.
  17. No, I have 2.03. Thanks for letting me know, I will do that! (Edit: Done) I would probably just stick with the camera. The flash and optical viewfinder are going to make it bulkier.
  18. Wow! You shouldn't have had the bottle of water, it takes up a lot of space.
  19. So far I am pretty happy with it. The AF is super fast in good light. The snap focus works well in low light. I love the size of them camera.
  20. Looks excellent.

    Gas Dryers

We ordered this one from Home Depot (stainless steel drum, dryer rack, steam, good reviews, etc). It should be here on Monday and hopefully we can get the plumber out soon afterwards (don't trust the the Home Depot/Sears/Lowes/Best Buy delivery guys to install gas products). Went with the LG over Samsung since I didn't want to deal with hooking up the water line if we wanted to use the steam feature. http://www.lg.com/us/dryers/lg-DLGX5171W-gas-dryer Hopefully all goes well (I hate dealing with this kind of stuff).

    Mattresses

Sorry, I missed that. People seem to think that mattress is fairly soft, how firm is it?

    Mattresses

Sleep Innovations? I found out about them at sleeplikethedead.com. They seem decent but their memory foam density isn't very high (2.5 - 3.5). http://www.sleeplikethedead.com/mattressreview-memory-foam.html
