  5. Ouch. And isn't there some sort of medical Loctite?
  6. That's a great shot.
  7. Happy Birthday!
  8. Maybe a bit out of date now, but we went to BB looking for a super cheap 1080p ~40" non-smart TV a year ago or so. We bought a Visio for not much ($200 or so, maybe less). It is not as nice as the plasma downstairs but it looks fine for a non-videophile. Don't know if your mom is anything like mine, but even this would be more than enough for mine.
  9. Happy Birthday
  10. I have a pretty good stash, but at $2.50 I could certainly top off the bin. I'd take another 20 or so. I would want the C grade.
  11. So much for El NiƱo leading to a dry warm winter in Chicago

  17. Should I say that I am working on the L3 which combines aspects of both?
  18. I don't know, I kind of like the T3 better. It is hard to compare as I have not heard a L2 in a while, but I could happily live with the T3 + HD650 as my end game setup. It doesn't mean better isn't available, but that this is an immersive and Hippocratic (does no harm) setup for me.
  19. I thought RS went out of business? I guess not. It is always a good idea to find someone who can teach you to solder, and who can teach you smart practices for working with electricity. This is a high voltage project, so having a person around who know what he or she is doing is a good idea. Oh, and I have piles of bad boards around for anyone who wants to practice soldering on something.
  20. It is a pretty easy and straightforward build. The hardest part about assembling an amp is generally the casework, and that is already done.
  21. Also, w/r/t/ upgrades: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sunk_costs
  22. That's called buying sculpture, which is fine, but does it really apply here? Maybe I'm missing something.
