  1. As we're mentioning other phones... I know they don't get much love here, but the RS1s nicely compliment the HF2s within the Grado-acoustic/small band world (rarely listen to arena rock). Doubt I'd own a pair of RS1s if I didn't have HF2s around, if that makes any sense? RS1s become a 'lighter' signature tweek to more successful HF2s when Grado-time hits (have only heard the PS1s sound balanced a couple times - usually a bit bottom heavy). Course not that Grado-time is ever about finesse. Both phones don't get a ton of head time, but glad they're around.
  2. Just saw the MBA in the flesh myself. That 11" is cute.

Damn, missed the pancake lens change. Finding both the body and old lens on sale anywhere near the old package deal might be difficult. So the LX5 has a faster lens now (though obviously sensor size differences play a part in light/speed).

  12. Speaking of Lennon, just ordered a few CDs from his friend after watching the recent doc...
  13. Sorry to hear the 4070s are disappointing Shelly. I'm not sure if it's the amps, musical tastes, trait focus or 4070 versus JH13 fit issues (returned mine four times), but I've found the opposite result. The weirdest thing about this is I'm beginning to think I have the lowest opinion of the JH13s around here, even though I think they're pretty great. Just not K1000/4070/HD800/and above great. And of course they're the most practical and may end up being my only closed cans.

  15. Just played the LCD-2s for my co-worker (out of Pico DAC/amp) and he said "Wow. So much music. So many notes all around."
  16. Thought you'd like it from recent film wanderings.
  17. Okay couple other points I should have posted earlier. Solid state with tube gain. Was in a Zana Deux case as a stop gab, but likely eventually less wide, slightly longer and more stack friendly (possibly tubes recessed with portals). And most exciting, besides how well it performed for the few tests I threw at it, he's trying to bring it in near $1K.
  18. Thanks. Hoping it wasn't a QC issue. You're not living up to your name though.
  19. LCD-2s arrived today at work. Quick question - If the left side slides up and down with far less resistance than the right, will tightening the side screw help?

  21. Welcome back. Prices aren't a discount from everything I've heard, but you never know what will happen when they figure out actual costs once to market. Course $1700 offers a lot of play room over the manufacturing costs.
  22. I think the light selection (and obviously arm angle) plays a large part on the screen coverage. I've seen photos that looked horrible, but have no problems with mine. And I don't get the Nook Color either. If I wanted a LCD I'd get a iPad or wait for future Android tablet. Can't imagine the market for color required (photo heavy mags or graphic novels - neither of which are obviously concerned with long text) above $249, but below $499 would be huge. Course if they create a foothold (as full Android tablets are seemingly taking forever to market), then expand functionality, they could have a brand to fight with.
  23. As I don't think the chassis is completely finalized neither is the price. Looks like it may be high bang for buck though. An everything amp. Nice integrated for efficient speakers (really sung with Dans Green Mountains) and performed very well with the HD800s, LCD-1s and 2s. OKay with K1Ks, but the others stood out more. Not sure what the specs are or how the final may change, but could see people really happy with it for multi-use. Definitely following progress.
