Not sure if something this expensive, helmed by a major director, qualifies as a 'pilot,' but if so it seemed to do everything right. It's a great base to run. Now let's see how they focus on story. Size is getting to be important and looking for a small cheap CDP with digital outs. Coming to you all for help. Used fine. Haven't had luck finding much, but something along the lines of this would work. Otherwise seems to be more DVD players (though not always with displays) in this range. Basically going for a Squeezebox/Lavry/GS-1 rig so trying to keep width near or less than 10". And Dusty Approved Black. Anyone know of any CD models I should consider or DVD players usable with an external display? If only my DVD-2900 was about a quarter its size.

x2 though most of my experience was pre-Creative ownership. Was sad to see them leave the West Coast. Stores were fun visits in pre-headphone days. Even after Creative bought their lines were always better than Creatives similar. Bet it sounds decent.

We don't know the quality of the 24/192 DAC in the Olive, but doesn't seem more expensive to me than whatever system you'd have a $400-500 ripper/NAS drive in. Add $300-$1K for the missing DAC and you approach/go over the new Olives price, no?

Anyway, fixed now. Been searching 10 pages of 'case' search results in this thread and only came across a few 'JH13s don't fit,' etc. comments, so apologies if this was covered before, but anyone got any 'is great'/'stay away' suggestions for the free case program (before it disappears)? Leaning towards the Incase Snap Smoke, but could be swayed.
