  1. Seems a little late for the holiday season. EDIT: Ah blubliss is quick.
  2. I have a couple Maxtor OneTouch 4 Mini drives that depending on computer uses a single data/power USB connection or also needs a secondary power only one.
  3. I just became T-Pain! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-NkBHMl8zI0 One more thing the iPhone fixes in my life.
  4. Is it just my circle of friends or are there a strange number of people calling this release Snow Lion?
  5. There's a lot of good info from beta testers on this forum.
  6. Still a little cryptic, so I've asked on their forum, but other comments may hint ... EDIT: I've just got a new game plan.
  7. True enough, though they saw an advantage of running internet radio from the player, not Slim Server on the computer, previously. We'll see, but I wonder the rational for having a USB connector for Flash drives on the player when the computer running Slim Server most certainly has one. Sure there are exception situations like the few NAS drives supported, remaining mobile with laptop without drive attached, etc. but I wonder if that justifies the connector at this point and not previously? I'd guess something has changed for them to put it there, though who knows if it's this use? And they've previously had ports for "future use." Guess it all comes down to what "Access your music and photos directly from USB drives and SD cards" and "USB host connector for accessing music and photos via USB drive or USB key" means. As mentioned above certain NAS drives, but in those cases Slim Server is running on the drive, not a conventional computer. The player is still not reading directly off a storage device. Otherwise just internet radio streaming from the player.
  8. Depends on how you roll. Far less necessary than on Windows IMO for speed regains, etc., but I use the opportunity to clean off unused files. Only concern, besides time and hassle, is what apps you had with your original disc (GarageBand, iMovie, etc.), you won't on the Snow Leopard only one.
  9. So as this does 24/96 and reads "directly from USB drives and SD cards" am I wrong that you could take the computer completely out of the equation (possibly after initial setup and, of course, ripping music), and have a nice little high res delivery system with only a ST and 1TB USB drive (add DAC if desired)? I know Squeezeboxes have had some NAS support and internet radio streaming sans computer before, but if the above holds true it certainly could pull me back to Slim Devices... err Logitech. Also interesting that ALAC is a codec no longer listed as "through transcoding." http://www.logitechsqueezebox.com/products/squeezebox-touch.html

  11. shellylh, let us know your Mail upgrade experience. If continued Mail slowness, I'll probably finally jump to Fluid and webapps (mostly Gmail), when I upgrade, but would be nice to know Mail is still an option.

  19. As it's at least slightly related, I've always been curious why B&W's Society of Sound, which really seems to strive hard for quality recordings, releases 24/48 files instead of 24/88.2 or 24/96? Can't think of anyone else doing this. Any guesses or is it likely simply a file size issue?
