You certainly are. I just wish you'd take the time to... ummm, I don't know... actually read what people wrote and not make broad generalizations. Then maybe, just maybe, you'd be making a point and not making it easy to dismiss you. Until you started posting in this thread, despite some of the posts, there was nothing here that made me think any less of you. But I have to say that you've managed to fix that. Well done.

You sure about that? You certainly don't come across like a self-righteous prick with poor reading comprehension over there. While I can understand why you wouldn't like some of what you've read here, you've clearly missed the point of at least some of it as you're arguing with people agreeing with you. Maybe revisiting what you've read here in context might help you understand why people don't feel they can be honest over there. This place is about a hell of a lot more than bitching about Head-Fi and the people over there. Does the freedom found here result in some going a little too far the other way? Probably. Is it understandable? Definitely. So simmer down, settle in and have fun!

I've only heard 2 on the list... The Beta was great. Seriously... Outstanding. The Apache was meh. Tried 3 or 4 different headphones with it. Music and some of the headphones were familiar, all of the upstream gear was new to me. Couldn't find a combo that impressed me. Despite the abundance of commercial offerings, if I was in the market for a SS amp and money were no object I would build the best Beta I could come up with with respect to parts selection, chassis and layout.

Maybe something along the lines of an o-ring. Some sort of plumbing part, perhaps. It would have the required ID but not have a prohibitive OD. I guess heat resistance would be the only concern, but considering temperatures in HW heaters, there might be something there.

Old bowls that have lost some of their shape. I've washed mine a few times, but only because my cat likes to bite them. But considering they're the original bowls that came with my HF-1s, they've definitely lost some of the springiness. Some go to great lengths squishing new bowls... Multiple washings, putting them under heavy books, and stuff like that.

nikongod's with (admittedly squished) bowls was absolutely amazing out of everything from Nate's balanced mini^3, my Millett and his Toaster Supra. It improved on everything I love about my woodied HF-1 without losing any of the magic. I listened to them with flats and the magic was gone. Completely. To each their own, I guess.

I disagree. I enjoyed this one a lot more, for a couple of reasons. The characters were much more believable, the shout-out to the UK version and while I loved the dinner party, it was a little over the top to be considered a top notch episode in my book. Don't get me wrong, I loved the dinner party, but this week's episode reminded me a lot of S02 with the Jim and Pam stuff, and stronger stories for the other office workers.

HF-1 w/ flats? Bad. Boomy, muddled and congested. RS-1 w/ flats? Bad. See above. Yuck. Just... Yuck. RS-1 w/ bowls? Early, pre-serial number/brown headband - Amazing. Everything I like about the HF-1 w/ bowls, but with better high-end detail with no harshness, better controlled bass that extends lower. Buttoned/serial numbered? Kill me now. Seriously. Unlistenable. Horrible. Horrible. New buttonless ones - A pleasant surprise. I really enjoyed Haj's pair at the mini-meet.

That was amazing. Just amazing. Watching it again now. Michael is such an ass. His date was definitely a throwback to David Brent's dates in the Christmas ep of the UK office. Wendy's? Go Kevin and Andy! And Jim's fake-out was classic.
