If diy is not out of the picture, a two way genelec style floorstander with beyma 12p80nd midwoofer and waveguided seas t35 tweeter is what I'd go for.

Quick question: can you take out the LEMO and XLR connectors from the Sennheiser HD800 balanced cable and reuse them for another cable or are they glued?

If anyone still cares about the thread title, the Headroom UDAC is on sale for 599$. That's a small, lightweight, balanced DAC and it sounds great. -
8" is the perfect size for a slate.

IMO you can't have enought attachments for the Kirby ... like the one for taking out dust mites out of the couch and the one for walls, and the furry one for books.

Now they have the 999$ server model mini with two hdd's and leopard server included. Put 2x2tb in there and run raid1 for data safety ... a really nice music server.
