I'm surprised you had an easier time installing Catalina? What was installed on the machine before and did you use Migration Assistant or do a clean install? If you're sick of the whole thing and would rather forget it and get on with life, I totally understand your reluctance to reply.

Post what you're watching
Been looking forward to this one. As a former tournament chess player, I'm always on the lookout for films about the sport that don't make me cringe. I've heard good things about the soundtrack too.

Not sure if you were in the Bay Area back then but I got to see them at a free concert in the San Jose State student union. I ran across this poster on KFJC's archives. Great album but who knew they'd get as famous as they did (I never woulda guessed)!

The Live Music Thread
National Independent Venue Association is having a YT festival/benefit this weekend 10/16-18 2020. Even if you aren't interested in the particular acts, I believe it's a worthy cause and in our better interests to support our local performing arts venues with at least an email to your reps in congress. Even better if you can afford a dollar or two! We probably can't save them all but ,.. https://www.saveourstages.com/?utm_medium=email&_hsmi=97453179&_hsenc=p2ANqtz-_yXsbhsi7I4rovyk9UtBHtIcJFZM77J96X9g7lSUSxu7oTgUFaGvdvlg_Ijb8riBPdqH-sPaB3cMa7V3ciiw1jaaACmA&utm_content=97453179&utm_source=hs_email#donate-now

I waited to see if the SE would get an update. Getting a package sans charger/earphones. No biggie. Everytime I open a drawer I stumble across one of those or a lightening cable! Glad to see they're still taking trade ins for the 6s.

Got hooked on Fred Dibnah YT videos today. Here's a good starting point.

And now what did you do TODAY?
Thanks for reminding me. Creating a Catalina 15.7 install drive for later. I'm going to stick with Mojave for a bit longer I think. Wow, when you say north!

I'm not sure why I got so "Goldilocks" this time around (the s61 is my 5th keyboard ) but I think the Keylab was a real standout in the price range. I wish the s61 was built as well!

I never owned a real piano so I learned (what little I learned) on electrics. So, I don't really like fully weighted (hammer action) keyboards. The Fatar keybed on the S61 is semi weighted and it's a little heavier than the Arturia. There are a number of Fatar keybed models. Some are fully weighted and are used with wooden keys on some of the best electric pianos. In fact, as far as the "effort" need, I prefer the Arturia a tiny bit more than the S61. It's the keys themselves that I like on the S61. The Arturia has a lot of things about it that I prefer; The build is better I much prefer the faders vs the rotary encoders The software package is better About $280 cheaper The things I like about the S61 The keys themselves (although I can imagine that I'll prefer the Fatar keybed after I get used to the extra strength needed) The integration with Logic with the larger screen real estate I'll probably put the KeyLab on Reverb soon.

After a month and a half, I never could make the connection with the Arturia Keylab Mk ll. I love the build quality and the integration as a synth but my fingers just never loved it. So I've had the NI S61 for a couple of days now and I think (hoping) it's going to make the cut. I used my Impulse every day for more than 8 years so I live with these things for the long haul.

Rick just released an interview with Joe Satriani. I was never a fan of his but he has some great stuff to say about music and being a musician.- Music Making
If I had the money to buy the mics you have, I'd only trust stands from Latch Lake or Triad Orbit (probably other great stands but those are the ones I've used that were fantastic for heavy mics). The AEA isn't fragile like the U87 but still, getting dents in a beautiful hand made mic is a crime. Also, it's worth the trouble to install quick releases IMHO. - Music Making
