Wow, some major variations! I guess it's a crapshoot, the way some of these teams have played and not played recently. Me: Capitals vs Rangers - Rangers in 7 (Cap's got better defensively this year, but I think some of the D's injuries will hurt them in playoffs) Flyers vs Sabres - Flyers in 5 (all depends on goalies, but the rest of the team is built well for playoffs) Bruins vs Canadiens - Bruins in 6 (this could really go either way. If the Bruins don't let down, they'll take it, maybe even in 5; but can't say for sure if they will or not, they have an ugly tendancy to do just that) Penguins vs Lightning - Pens in 6 (Pens just so gritty and deep, even without Crosby and malkin. I'm amazed at how well they've done; I think they'll out-grit the lesser TB defense) Canucks vs Hawks - Vancouver in 5 (Canuck's home ice will give them nice advantage, though they sometimes choke a game or two) Sharks vs Kings - Sharks in 7 (counting on a near-choke from SJ) Wings vs Coyotes - Detroit in 5 (Detroit is Detroit) Ducks vs Predators -Ducks in 6 (Ducks on a roll, always liked them)

Echo the same sentiments here, glad at least it's identified and treatable. Speedy recovery, and lots of rest for you both!

Hope all gets better soon, luck wished from here as well.....

Cleaned off our deck, put out Paddy O'Furniture, and opened our screened/windowed porch! Spring is here! Also watched the Bruins lose to a now-fun-to-watch Devils team in the final regular season game, and thought of Vicki when I saw the Red Wings beat Chicago. Man, tough time for the Hawks, they could be out of the playoffs after having won it all..... And congrats Haj on the tax return - since last year's refund wasn't expected, you SHOULD use that as fun money!

My first thought when I saw them was that they reminded me of those monster halloween feet (less the hair). But the price is right, and many a folk seem to like them....so I bit.

I know it's not fully appropriate for the new H-C Glencairn glasses, but I don't have any scotch (not even bar scotch!) in house. So.....tipping up a little Lucid Absenthe in the new glass tonight, drinking alone - is that a problem?

^^ Agree as well, based on a few biz trips there. I think what adds to it is the genuine good cheer of the bartenders when they top off the pint (or bigger), hand the drink over, and give a nice smile and "Cheers!" It's all about atmosphere!

Boy's weekend, wife is meeting her two sisters in CT for the night. Watched my son's first soccer game of the season, they won 3-1. He had an assist, a nice pass up the middle, for one of the goals. They should have a decent team this spring. Later, it's off to shop for headsets for his XBox 360, going to go with the stereo in-line with the L/R audio in most likely....Turtle Beach or the like. Oh, and maybe a new toy for his dad, too

What fun.....sorry to hear of the comings and goings Jacob, but I think sometimes companies get short-sighted. Nothing against the other gent, but often times you get what you paid for. Seen it a LOT at my last company......supposedly saving money ended up costing a bunch more in the end. In any case, it may have been worse than it's worth. Haj, hope Libby is better and you and wife are well-rested.... Today, I found out that Karma sometimes works. One of the Project Managers at my old company, who is technically very good but WAY too power-hungry, biased, & controlling, finally had it come back to her. Her project is now going to be almost a year late, and my old colleague told me today she is leaving the company (one of those "for other opportunities" type announcements). In his words: "[the project] is now delayed until November, and her head is rolling." Also found out that two more people gave notice there, leaving a drastic experience gap as they get even more Karma on them for laying off a bunch of good folks to try outsourcing. It's going to be fun watching them try to support the business the next few months. Gee, does it sound like I'm bitter? (far too long seeing great people treated like crap will do that to you)

I was thinking about this, and I think what happened to the Habs happened to the Bruins the first time they played Pittsburgh after the Cooke hit on Savard. Bettman was there, spoke to the teams (owners? GM's?), and the feeling was it was going to be so tight to play. As a result, the Bruins came out with a thoroughly lackluster performance. Cooke took a very short and light beating from Shawn Thornton, and the Pens walked away with the game easily. Montreal is certainly MUCH better than they played that night.....and as I said, I still fear them if the Bruins play them in the PO's.

Actually went on a date with my wife last night. My son was at a sleepover birthday party, so we went to a local Boston-style trendy wine bar and overpaid for small portions Still, it was nice to get out as adults, food was very good, and I tried a Sandeman Ruby port after dinner. Decent cheap port, though I think I like Six Grapes better.... Nate, hope your daddy-daughter weekend is going well. I've always enjoyed the time with my son (despite this post).

Thoroughly enjoyed the Bruins-Canadiens game last night, even though it was so one-sided; Bruins finally won a good game of hockey against them. The Habs have had the Bruins' number pretty much all year. And with the build-up of the Pacioretty hit, and the closeness of the race for home ice advantage in the first round, it shaped up to be a truly big game. I was ecstatic about the way the Bruins played, but disappointed that the Habs didn't do better; they ARE very much a better team than what they showed. Despite the confidence that this gave the Bruins, I still fear them facing Montreal in the first round if it works to be that way. And it sounds like Pacioretty may be back for the playoffs, wishing him all the best.....
