Agreed.....Vinny started out years back doing mods, and he and one other gained fame for their Samsung/Toshiba DVD player mods which did great jobs on getting better sound from them (I still have an old Toshiba that had some of the mods he designed/recommended; it sounded very good for real cheap $). IIRC, I had one brief email exchange with him, and indeed he was gracious and quick to reply to what I'm sure was a pretty stupid question. I also don't begrudge him his success, I just will never pay those kind of prices for the products. I haven't paid too close attention, but I don't think he tries to sell it off with really wild claims, just wild pricing.....

Cool gift! As for MTL, would Patrick Roy even want to come back? He has a tepid history with the team from the end of his tenure there, yes? Cammalleri is definitely off this year, he's been so good in the past. And despite the injuries, the team seems to have a tighter defense; the 1-0 loss to the Bruins the other week was incredible to watch, with the youngsters playing real well against the physical presence of the Bruins. Add to that players like Cole, who is pretty strong on his skates and can score, and the potential is great. Maybe a coaching change will do it, who knows.

Grabbed a near-new Shure SRH-940 off ebay.....enjoy the 840 for what it is, so going to try the older brother.

Took my wife to the airport last night, she's off to Germany for a week. Before that, we went to Boston's North End and had a great dinner at one of our favorite Italian places. Also saw Ray Bourque and got a pic with him....nice night, though I had to say goodbye to my wife for the week.....
