  1. Wow, I had heard sleep apnea can cause other issues, didn't realize it could be to that degree..... Took my son to his soccer game today, they won 7-1 and he got a decent goal. Then off to my mother's for a visit, as she was in the next town over fromt eh soccer game. Nice time all around.
  2. Happy Birthday Jim! Drink well

    R.I.P. R.E.M.

Have to say, I wasn't the biggest fan of their last several albums. I respected the hell out of them, but the first two will always be my faves. Maybe because of the time they were done, and my age and place in life..... Still, an great indelible mark on music history!
  4. Happy Birthday! Hope it is/was/will be a great day and night!
  5. They played LWTUA, all of the Closer album, several older songs from singles or Still, a couple from Unknown Pleasures, and finished their third encore (!) with Atmosphere and Ceremony. Almost 2 hours long, just amazing!
  6. Went to see Peter Hook & The Light last night, at a nice smaller club in Boston. They did the entire Joy Division "Closer" album, plus a heck of a lot more! Almost 2 hours, with 3 encores of some great music. Joy Division held the title of my favorite group for many a year in the 80's and 90's, and this was an incredible stroll down memory lane. Some pics attached. First is sign in bathroom that had to be taken, second and third Peter, fourth is Peter's son (who played damn well). EDIT: just found out his son was playing another Bass; this guitarist was not family
  7. Sheep, beer and wine...THAT'S a party! Glad it was a great time, very happy birthday!
  8. Happy Birthday Deepak! May it be an aurally and otherwise ecstatic
  9. Happy Belated! I remember a nice M^3 I bought from you; sounded great, but you were admittedly new to the whole casework thing Still miss that baby, though..... Hope your day was a good one!
  10. Nice thrice (or can I only say that to Thrice?)
  11. Good luck to your dad Marc, sending best wishes that way! Haj, too bad you didn't get pics up at Acadia, but even those don't do it justice IMO....truly a beautiful place with the small sandy beach area, lake (Jordan Pond), mountians, forest, and ocean. My wife and I spent 5 days in that area when my son went to sleep-away camp.... BTW, was the bad restaurant experience @ Jordan Pond, or elsewhere in Bar Harbor area? We had a very good experience - twice - at Jordan Pond.
  12. Good to see all the hopeful news, wishing everyone the best, from dads to motherfucking blanket sellers to child-bottle-feeders to vacationers to back patients I just got back from the vet taking my two cats in for check-ups. The larger one that is sleek and strong like a panther (Gryphon; keeping my tradition of naming cats after stereo equipment) was the world's biggest wimp, while the normally skittish one (Tab; not stereo, my wife and son overruled me) took it all like a trooper. Two shots each, handled well, but both are happy to be home.
  13. Nice Vivids! I heard a pair of the larger (still 2 driver) stand-mounted a couple weeks ago, it was surprisingly coherent and musical sounding, not even fully burned in. Bass was a little flabby, but very deep for the size. I expect it would tighten up too.....
  14. Dang, so young indeed..... My condolences to family and friends as well

Can't believe I missed the Radiohead JD cover! Really great stuff. For many a year, JD weas my favorite band. For anyone who cares, Peter Hook is travelling again doing his JD covers with his band The Light, this trip it's the Closer album (last trip was Unknown Pleasures, and I had to miss it unfortunately). As "Decades" is one of my favorite songs ever, I am going to see them in Boston. http://www.songkick.com/artists/37055-peter-hook/calendar
  16. Very Happy Birthday (hope it was, or that you're still celebrating it!)
  17. ^^^ This. We installed a battery backup for ours a year after it was in. Haven't needed it thankfully but a good investment!
  18. Good news! May it keep getting better and better.
  19. ^^ Ditto. Seeing slower sustained winds in North Andover, with gusts so far (I'm guessing) only in the high 20's to low 30's maybe..... Some reports of folks in town, along Rt 114 towards Middleton, have lost power. Just talked with my mom in Marblehead, she's more worried about her neighbors' trees. She's not close to the shore, but has had occasional water issues. Stay safe, all!
  20. Sorry to hear this, hope it gets resolved easily enough, with minimal hassle. I had my CC # stolen, I THINK from Tiger Direct. I always used PayPal with them, and one time I used my card. Next thing I know, I get a call from the CC company (they have been quite good to me), with two charges to Tiger Direct. They instantly credited me, and I also called Tiger Direct; they stupidly gave me the ship-to address (from what i learned later, they're not supposed to do that), and I told them they may want to hold/return/cancel the shipment. The sad part is, even with an address, I called my local police and the police in the CA jurisdiction, and no one seemed to want to do anything.....too much of a hassle.....
  21. Happy Birthday!
  22. These are the "IBM Horses" down in Las Calinas (sp?) Texas, correct? They've held up so well, I was last down there in the late 80's and they looked great then....
  23. Happy Birthday!
  24. Happy Birthday, number 6!
  25. Happy Birthday Ian!
