Happy Birthday!

Nothing serious, which is good since it would have been a nightmare trying to get to a hospital in the snow this morning. I'm usually vigilant about unplugging these things but it completely slipped my mind this morning.

Just finished shoveling after three and half hours. I really should buy myself a snow blower.

Accidentally turned on my Vitamix while cleaning the base and peeled a bit of skin off my thumb.

I stand corrected - they just cancelled my school.

x2. Though my work (public school) will most likely be closed tomorrow. Unfortunately, I probably won't know for certain until about an hour before I'm supposed to be at work.

Putting together/taking apart Flexy is a huge pain in the ass, and I think mine had 4 or 5 shelves. The last time I took it apart, I never put it back together and just went the IKEA route (and now I've no real audio toys). I still have all the rods, nuts, and washers on a shelf in my basement. Oh and leveling 3 legged ones are a lot easier than leveling 4 legged ones.

Unlike Canon or Nikon, Sony can also just close down digital camera division if they so choose since the company's survival isn't riding on the said division. Right or wrong, I don't see Canon or Nikon doing anything radical/unexpected since they probably think they don't have to - mirrorless market share really hasn't changed in the last couple of years. On the flip side, maybe Canon or Nikon can't/won't do anything radical/unexpected for the fear it doesn't work (and can't afford huge mistake) since so much of their success rides on their respective imaging division.

I wish I could do that - as of now, it still costs us more to use their damn share plan. Edit - never mind, just saw that they have cheaper pricing once you get over 10gb data.

I know it's not quite the same, but on my early 2011 15" MBP w/ better GPU, there's a noticeable lag on external monitor compared to MBP's LCD when making adjustments in LR. Dual screen setup, 8gb ram, LR catalogue on SSD with image files on internal HDD (in optical bay). The external monitor is connected via TB to DVI cable. Not sure if the lag will still be noticeable if I set it up to just use the external monitor.

I'd rather get Caldigit one as it has better spec/support on its USB3 ports.

^ The first 3 winters here (this is our 6th winter here), whoever the town had hired to do our street always did a fantastic job of not leaving us with ice/snow wall in front of our driveway. In fact, if they saw us shoveling, they would often plow the snow out of the bottom ⅓ of our driveway.

Had some fried eggs this morning as well, cooked with rather large amount of butter as usual.

We were away this weekend and got home today to find several inches of nice, wet snow. Along with ~2 ft of ice/snow wall the town plows left in front of the driveway. Now I hear there's few more inches coming Tuesday night to Wednesday morning.

I like the first one better.

Argh, I still need to season my pans - haven't had time to get them done yet.
