I personally think the K701 is great myself. The white iGrado... not so much.

Hi guys, Has anyone heard the Mapletree Ear+ Purist HD? I've read a few positive remarks about it on Head-Fi but details are lacking. Is anyone able to comment on how it would compare with a PPX3? And another question, how is the standard PPX3 (>$650) compared with the 6SN7 version (>$750) or SLAM? I've always had the feeling that it wasn't worth it to get a PPX3 unless I got the SLAM version (>$800) though. Seems like everyone is telling me that extra $200 is the absolutely worth the money, and it's almost pointless to spend $650 for a standard PPX3. Cheers and thanks guys! Nanoha

I almost bought the AD2000 a year ago but never did. The near-$600 USD pricetag was intimidating. How would you say it stacks up against the W5000? Or are they too different to compare? Cheers, Nanoha

I need to try these sometime. They seem like they'll be just my type of sound. I was interested by the things that the UE guy said at the Head-Fi National Meet. He seemed to have kept repeating that people who listen to rock and rap will hate the UE-10 and that the super.fi's would be perfect on the other hand. I've only heard the super.fi 5 pro and I was disgusted. It had way too much bass even for rock and rap for my taste. So maybe the UE-10 will be perfect...

Oh, that makes sense. A lot of people love the sound of the L3000 but don't like the other A-T woodies. Also, some people mentioned in the past that the AD2000 sounds similar in signature to the L3000. Hmmm, a woodie AD. I would look forward to that indeed. Most definitely.

Get grawk's. They have around $1100 worth of mods on them from what I'm guessing. So $1500 seems like a reasonable price.
