October DC area meet
Let me know if you want a few extra cables to sell as well. I have a few mini-mini you can prolly get $20 a pop for, and I can make a few extras if you want. Pay for parts, and I'll donate my services to build whatever you want to help you offset the cost. I cannot afford it in monetary terms, but my time is all yours.

E500 vs. Triple.fi
A few more impressions: as stated, these have some pretty damn good bass. Much more quantity than I am used to in an IEM. This is a good thing, to me, as it keeps a lively, involving sound to what may otherwise be dry and analytical. What sets this apart from single driver IEM's (and many headphones, albeit the lower end) is even though there is a big bass drop, the highs still sparkle and dont suffer. This is the first time I've really heard this in an IEM (Ety's don't count since there is no bass to speak of). The bass could extend a bit deeper, but that I really only notice a tiny bit when listening to electronic music, which is actually a very large part of my collection. Everything I have read says the E500/SE530 would be better in this regard, but I prefer to actually have a high end. So I'll sacrifice some bass extension, and not roll off the highs. The midrange seems a bit recessed, but not overly so. I will comment further after getting to some vocal music. All in all, I'm LOVING these.

Heh, its coming.. I'll (hopefully) have it done tomorrow. Unless you want me to overnight it to you tomorrow... then I can stay up tonight to do it. Let me know.- E500 vs. Triple.fi
Holy Crap. I got went home form my apt. today, and I had waiting for me the rest of the parts for my mini^3, and my triple.fi. I finished the mini^3 in about 45 minutes, and let it charge for a while. I just put the triple.fi in, ad hooked my mini up to my ZV:M's lineout. My initial impressions: I have never heard this much detail before. Never. The 701 can't touch these, and they were the most detailed phone I've heard to date. The bass is wonderful. nice and full, while remaining tight and quick. Among the best bass response I've heard from headphones. I have to run it through a the ringer on some more vocal music (Right now listening to Karsh Kale- Broken English, which is electronic/world music(Indian)/some vocal) It has this distant feeling that I'm not used to with IEM's. It actually has decent soundstage, for an IEM. That took me aback when I first put them in. I'm used to that in the head sound. This still has it, but it STARTS to expand beyond your ears. Imaging seems superb. The highs sparkle much more than I expected. to tell the truth, I half expected to hear them, and want to return them. I have yet to be so impressed by a high end IEM, and have not yet been able to justify the price difference. I will still work these out over the weekend, but if they keep this up, they may be sticking around.- Katie Melua- Pictures
