  1. Sounds like the early "expert" predictions for who will be in the BCS title game are OSU and LSU
  2. Lol yeah and OU up by two td's now. GO PITT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. Damn nice return from Noel Devine and Pat White is coming back in the game now.
  4. Yep only managed a field goal out of it though and Mizzou tied it up just before half-time.
  5. Both Mizzou and WVU are losing right now. What a mess the BCS will be if they both end up going down. God I love college football
  6. As would I, especially if I only paid about $1500 for them originally like he did .
  7. ditto, plus my lazyness almost requires a remote. I'm glad the modwright has one.
  8. Watching Rutgers vs Louisville right now.
  9. Well right but even pre-break it was still clearly not used much.
  10. While I do agree with most of that, even though they are n00bs they should still know how to use the search function.
  11. Have you tried a very warm tube like the RCA 6sn7's driving a pair of 5687s?
  12. Actually they are still produced, but the prices of the current production ones makes them not worth even considering.
  13. I agree that he needs to watch out and plan for dissipating the heat from the power supply correctly. But I don't think the 6528's are that rare at all or all that expensive. They are pretty easily found for about $60/each I know of at least 3 tube dealers that sell them at that price and they all have plenty in stock.
  14. The power supply (specifically the power diodes) got pretty toasty but the amp itself didn't run hot at all really. Essentially Mikhail had to use the power supply case as a heatsink for the diodes since they had so much current running through them.
  15. They aren't any different I've compared the regular sovteks to the "DR" variant and they sound identical to me.
  16. yep there is both [sub*][/sub*] m3 and [sup*][/sup*] tags m3

    Modwright SWL 9.0SE

I didn't have them at the same time to do any direct comparisions but I will say that the Modwright has a much lower noise floor. This is probably due to the fact that the Dragon just really had too much gain to be very useful as a pre-amp. Sure it was nice but when you can only use 3 or 4 steps on the SA it's a real pain to get the volume level you want.
  18. I do it so that when someone reads my opinion on a piece of gear they'll have a baseline of where I'm coming from.
  19. They have to rebuild the search index, which believe me will take quite some time.

    Battlestar Galactica

Watching BSG Razor on sci-fi right now. Almost forgot it was on.
  21. Way too expensive.
  22. I'm thinking about replacing my current TV and getting something bigger that will also be able to hold all my A/V components. Allowing me to just have one piece of furniture for everything instead of a tv stand and a seperate audio rack. Right now I've been looking at the Syngery 30 w/ center channel shelf. Any other suggestions? I'd like to keep it under $1k and no wider than 65" if possible.
  23. Reks you better hope Kansas or Mizzou wins out, otherwise Ohio State will be in the title game again. I know you don't want that
  24. It was a great game as was last nights LSU - Arkansas game. It's been a really wild season so far, will be interesting to see how Kansas-Mizzou goes tonight.
  25. Happy Birthday Jason!
