  1. Yes that's correct.
  2. Here's a few more pics of the d-sonic's that I took the other night: [img width=150 height=100 alt=d-sonic 001]http://www.head-case.org/gallery2/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=771&g2_serialNumber=2&g2_GALLERYSID=1a5f64119461c39b8b9069bd17e125bf [img width=150 height=100 alt=d-sonic 002]http://www.head-case.org/gallery2/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=776&g2_serialNumber=2&g2_GALLERYSID=1a5f64119461c39b8b9069bd17e125bf [img width=150 height=100 alt=d-sonic 003]http://www.head-case.org/gallery2/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=780&g2_serialNumber=2&g2_GALLERYSID=1a5f64119461c39b8b9069bd17e125bf [img width=150 height=100 alt=d-sonic 004]http://www.head-case.org/gallery2/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=784&g2_serialNumber=2&g2_GALLERYSID=1a5f64119461c39b8b9069bd17e125bf [img width=100 height=150 alt=d-sonic 005]http://www.head-case.org/gallery2/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=788&g2_serialNumber=2&g2_GALLERYSID=1a5f64119461c39b8b9069bd17e125bf [img width=150 height=100 alt=d-sonic 006]http://www.head-case.org/gallery2/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=792&g2_serialNumber=2&g2_GALLERYSID=1a5f64119461c39b8b9069bd17e125bf [img width=150 height=100 alt=d-sonic 007]http://www.head-case.org/gallery2/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=796&g2_serialNumber=2&g2_GALLERYSID=1a5f64119461c39b8b9069bd17e125bf
  3. The 396A is not a replacement/equivalent for the 5687. The 396A = 2c51 so you'd need to get the 2c51 adapter to use them. If you want to use them at all use one as the input tube, they'd be useless as output tubes.
  4. Nate, so they're actually going to send you a couple samples?
  5. Might also want to check out the Cambridge Audio 640A
  6. If your running Windows give Paint.NET a try.
  7. I'll 2nd that
  8. His review is based on the current production version.
  9. GS1K treble soft? I think thats the first time I've ever heard that. I think their treble is brash, harsh and bright as hell.
  10. He doesn't own one of the prototypes, though he did hear both prototype pairs well before they were introduced at the national meet. If I recall correctly he preferred both prototypes to the final version.
  11. They are just talking about motherboards with eSATA integrated. There's no reason a eSATA pci card won't work in any pci slot.

  13. and since you appear to have stuff in flac already dbpoweramp can convert from flac to alac.
  14. He does
  15. congrats the β22 is one hell of a good amp
  16. i haven't kept up with rockbox lately, but did they ever actually get it working on the 80gig ipods? i know for the longest time they couldn't get it working with the 5.5 80gig and i wonder if they have it working with the classic's at all.

    K1000 = hope

yeah the k1000s are damn nice headphones. though I will say that the 650s are very solid headphones in their own right. they have a lower ceiling than the k1000, but then again they also cost a hell of a lot less. btw why bryston amp is that?
  18. They are, I've been saying that for awhile but now it's nice to have the visual proof. The modules come fully assembled straight from the manufacturer who is Bang & Olufsen in this case. The price difference is quite substantial: $4000 for the bel canto and $1950 for the d-sonic.
  19. I've mentioned in the past how good I think the D-Sonic's are and how they use the exact same ICE Power modules that the Bel Canto Ref1000 and other amps use. Well here's some proof: Bel Canto Ref1000 pic taken from 6moons: D-Sonic Magnum 500M: Notice that everything except for the rca/xlr connectors and binding posts are completely identical. Right down to the aluminum bracket/heatsink that the boards are mounted to .

  21. Good call Nate the Ear amps would sound great with his vintage RS-1's.
  22. Everest: Beyond the Limit
  23. I always preferred the 6bx7 to the 6bl7's, the bx7s are more linear and cleaner sounding which is what I like in an output tube. I want the input tube to do the coloring not the output tubes.
  24. Congrats on the amp I'm sure its a beast.
