Well upscaling isn't exactly that big of a thing, it looks better sure but it's no where close to real HD material. Oh and blu-ray players including the PS3 do upscaling as well
the 4-disc dvd version comes with the us, international, directors and final cut. so no workprint version in the dvd set.
btw the blu-ray final cut looks completely amazing.
they did a full 4k restoration and it shows (4k is roughly twice the resolution of 1080i/p)
Is it one of the black chassis MPX3? If so, looking at the amp from the front the input tube is the one on the left. The output tubes are the other two .
It's hard to say if this is just pathetic, kinda sad or funny but after 10+ yrs in development 3D Realms finally released a teaser trailer for Duke Nukem Forever
HD Version
I'm going to be re-arranging my HT/speaker rig pretty soon and I'm going to need different length speaker cables than what I have now. I don't have a budget in mind but I'm not going to spend a ton on this. I'll be needing two 10ft runs for the main speakers, a short 5ft cable for the center channel and two 25ft runs for the rear channels.
Yeah the pcm 179x series of dacs is good stuff, probably my 2nd favorite dacs behind the top of the line AKM chips. The 1794 in particular is used in a dvd players (the denons) and a number of cdp's across pretty much the whole price range. I believe the 1798 is the latest dac in the 179x family and it is used in some very high-end cdps like http://simaudio.com/moonsupernova.htm
I think the reason you don't see this much is because of how similar the Grado drivers are through the entire lineup. Most of the sonic differences are due to enclosure type/size and driver dampening. So why bother starting w/ a $700 pair of phones when you can start with much less expensive phones and likely get similar results.
You could probably find a used denon 3910 for under $500 if you want. It'll almost definitely have better video than the Cambridge if that's a concern.
