I had the DAC1, too. The North Star smokes it in every way. Aside from the soundstage, what are some other differences you've noticed between the ECD-1 and the DAC1?

Not sure if I posted this: Seems like a pretty good deal at $150.00. Seems like the silver is being discontinued. I'm expecting it to be pretty ugly.

So pretty soon I'll have an ECD-1 in the house, which means I'll be able to compare it to the North Star m192 mk2. I've heard such great things about the ECD-1 that I just impulsively pulled the trigger when I saw it on the 'gon. But I also have grown very fond of the North Star. It will be fun to compare. I'll save this space for my impressions...

That would be mine now. Looking forward to comparing it to the North Star. Also, not a fan of the damn blue LEDs. But they're damn near ubiquitous at this point. Except for our Penguin friend of course.

Listening to my "new" mk1 now. Not in a position to compare to the mk2 yet in any more detail than I did for the NYC meet. However, I do note that to me the mk1 is more like my Lambda Signature than the mk2 is like the Signature. For whatever that's worth.
