  1. i saw those but didnt get one because i was confused about the power supply. the dc input jacks seem to be missing or a different size than what they normally use? maybe its just me. all i can hope for now is that the toole discrete iv boards fit in my 3.0
  2. I personally like the sound. It drives the er-4s well enough unamped with plenty of volume to spare- (I rarely passes the halfway mark with my music) The sound is fantastic. It reminds me a the 1g shuffle, but more controlled. Soundstage feels expanded too. When used with an amp through the dock out the soundscape is perfect. I guess if they reach 80gb on these things I would gladly move on from "classic-y" ipods and big ass amps. Oh wait I already did Time to save up for an esw9
  3. posting this on a 16gb touch I got today as a gift
  4. Would it be a good choice to use an isolation transformer between the wall and a power conditioner like a pureav pf60 or a monster or apc or whatever? I'm thinking one of these would just suffice.. but for the price i can get both the iso trafo and the pf60... I used to use one of these when i was in an apartment.

  6. save the money... if you two listen at different levels, keep it at the lower volume preference, because here's your chance to adapt your listening to lower levels which is always good for your ears. Doing it while listening with a partner helps much more than trying to listen under your own desired level because then you have no choice but to bear it and in the end your ears benefit.
  7. I thought it sounded great both times I heard it with my own headphones. Hate the etching though. Overall it was a really thick sound that never really failed to please (Maybe the thick sound came from his cd player that was always used). It would be a nice desktop amp for bedside or office to relax to as it really doesn't have any glaring sound signature to it. Not splashy, no hint of harshness and the unit itself was very solidly made with a heavy duty feel. The styling on it is more youthful and would probably fit in on a computer desk more than an audio system though. Kind of reminiscent of those computers for gamings. The msrp of 399 turned me off a bit, but then when I remember most of the pieces of shits out there you can blow 400 on, this thing doesn't seem too bad. Not many commercial hybrids out there so if that's your thing then go for it. At 299 now I would probably get one if i didnt have like ten millet maxes..
  8. yea this was in their forum Cog - Forums / Playlist does not display files so its not isolated
  9. well i think the only difference this thing makes is that it allows access to prerecorded music, while the pro portable recorders do play dsd but where will the recordings come from? of course coming up with a different medium is very hard for those who already invested so much in sacds because then you would have to buy the same recordings over just to play them portable. the only advantage is that you can carry much more music conveniently than sacd discs. a better solution would have been thought something like sonicstage or something where you put in an sacd and it "checks out" the music into the player but then i guess they are afraid of adding too many security backdoors for piracy. then again having the media manager encrypted and synced wiht the portable much like apple's itunes store thingy wouldnt be too hard because the only people this appeals to are people with sacd collections already and then it's retarded because they have to buy duplicates and even a stupid check in check out drm crap is more bearable than wasting money and the enviornment on these "cards"
  10. well i think the bit rate is about double of redbook so say 1.4gb for an 80 minute stereo mix, then you get maybe just over 15 hours of music on it?
  11. AND THEY HAVE MORE AIR TUBES LESS CAPACITANCE AND STUFF SO YOU CAN SAVE THE CAPACITANCE FOR BETTER THINGS LIKE HIGH END YELLOW COLORED MUSICAL CAPACITORS LIKE AURICAPS AND MUSICAPS AND CARDAS GOLDEN RATIO CAPS (HAS TEFLONG IN THEM AND IS BETTER THAN VCAPS AND OTHER ALL TEFLONG CAP BECAUSE ITS RATIOED AND WONT SMEAR TIME SA MUCH AS ALL TEFLONG) REFERENCE IS MUCH BETTER THAN PRESENSCE I MEAN PRESENCCE DOESNT MEAN ANYTHING THE PRESENCE OF UGLY PPL DOESNT MAKE YOU HAPPIER BUT THE REREFERENCE LEVEL PEOPLE LIKE SEXY PEOPLE MAKE YOUR LIFE BETTER
  12. This piece of proprietary unwieldy drm shit & ue10pro would be beastly. fuck them imods and jamato batteries. a new age of protable audio is here. works with itunes too.
