  1. Happy Birthday!
  2. Happy birthday Frank!
  3. I'm sure I can. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I think my DIY electrostatic headphones look better.
  5. I'm in for some 2sk216 and 2sj79 too.
  6. You'll want to look at the schematic of power supply for KGSSHV. It's the same thing.
  7. Happy Birthday!
  8. Merry Christmas!
  9. Would be nice for a GB.
  10. Have you tried here? http://tohri.com/cgi/oyamada_com.cgi They claimed to have 3,000 pieces of 2sk216 in the original Renesas package. They have 2sj79 too. http://tohri.com/cgi/oyamada_com.cgi
  11. I'm sure you guys are not talking about using 6c33 for a Stax amp or are you? I really like the heat and the shape of 6c33. Wachara C.
  12. Happy Birthday! :dan:
  13. Like Birgir's said, since the stators are insulated, the dust cover touching the stators won't make the noise. I would also check to see the condition of the dust cover on the side facing your ear. This side is more critical than the other side. Wachara C.
  14. I've found that bad solder joints could cause the noise too. Try resolder all the joints before you send them back to Stax. Also check to see if the dust covers are still good. Even a tiny hole on the dust cover can eventually lead to this problem. Wachara C.
  15. I don't think your hissing problem comes from those cotton hair on your metal grill though. If anything were to cause a problem, it should to be inside the driver, trapped within the two dust covers. Unfortunately, I think your problem could come back again anytime.
  16. Hi Jwzhan, Do they not have a dust cover on the back side? Or do you open up the dust cover and find the hair trapped inside?
  17. The glowing tubes look super nice, RiStaR! Congratulations.
  18. The aluminum plate looks really nice Kerry.
  19. Depending on how loud you want to play, a pair of good size electrostatic headphone drivers can be used as a pair of desktop speakers too. You'll need a woofer to compliment the low frequencies though.
  20. Right! Tight dust cover can be a problem. Wachara C.
