  1. That's a nice build. Congratulations! Wachara C.
  2. Since the mesh screen isn't as flat as the PCB and the alignments of the two stators can't be exact, my guess is that the electrostatic field won't be as homogeneous as that from PCB stators. But if it's just for a fun factor, then I think it's worth going for it. I'll see if I can do something here. Wachara C.
  3. Do you know how fine the mesh of the stator needs to be? I wonder just what an advantage there is for using the mesh stator over their later PCB stator version. Wachara C.
  4. That won't be too difficult.
  5. Graphite powder isn't so easy to apply to the Mylar. To get a nice and even coating is time consuming and can be very difficult. The problem is that graphite powder just does't stick to Mylar very well. I opened up a pair of Stax SR207 a few weeks ago, and it seemed to me that the coating they used was very similar to what I've been applying to my DIY sets. I use electrostatic cleaner gel. Wachara C.
  6. Very nice build JoaMat! Wachara C.
  7. The SR007 MKII doesn't fart like SR007 MK 1. Wachara C.
  8. Nice review! Great work.
  9. Sand it away and reapply Tung oil. That should be the easiest way.
  10. Hahaha, I'm pairing with Birgir! What would you like to have, Birgir? A pair of HE-90 clone drivers? Wachara C.
  11. Count me in too.
  12. I put on another coat last night. When I was oiling, I used 1000 grit sand paper and wet sand them. I'll try to look for the blue colored Scotch scouring pad. When you're buffing the wood, do you put on some kinds of wax? Wachara C.
  13. Hi! May I ask a few questions about oiling the wood? It's my first time to try linseed oil. I'm using it on my new headphone cups now. So far I've done around 3 coatings over 3 days. How do you know when you already have enough coating? I can't seem to find the 0000 steel wool around here, is it possible to use very fine sandpaper (1000) instead? Wachara C.
  14. No, they're not mine. I haven't got a chance to try them yet. Wachara C.
  15. Wow!!! This guy is a genius.
  16. The mod was done by a Thai head-fi member in Thailand. He took out the 507 drivers from their plastic enclosures and wrap them with some kinds of Carbon-Keflar tape. He used hot air from a hot air gun to soften the tape then wrapped the tape aroumd the drivers. Once cool, the tape became stiff and held the drivers in place pretty well. Wachara C.
  17. Happy Birthday!
  18. That's a great idea. I'm in.
  19. Thanks Todd!
  20. Nice! Congratulations!
