  1. Nate's first package is on the way. The second had to be shipped here first. I hope to send it along tomorrow.
  2. Ham on rye from Three Floyds, to match the beer of the same name. A nice Spanish ham, red lettuce and a big dollop of horseradish in the mustard.
  3. Yep, as Pars stated, mine have done the same thing a couple of times now. I need to get some epoxy but in the past I've used superglue and it will hold for several months. Make shure to only apply glue to the stationary part of the plastic moulding, that way they will still be able to rotate to flat for storage. I used a vice-grips pliers to clamp them while drying, clamping inside-outside to hold the pieces together. But with Monkey's latest update, I may need to contact AT and see if they can help. I'm the second owner so I wasn't hopeful, but now, maybe.
  4. Happy Birthday Bryan! I owe you some Three Floyds beer. Remind me when we meet up next. Mike
  5. I can atest to the fact that Reksy meets are the best meets. Period.
  6. "My God, they're full of shit!"
  7. Shackelton's Antarctic whisky found: Shackleton's Antarctic whisky found - Boing Boing
  8. Just had two dozen mussels steamed in 3 Floyds Gumballhead beer. Also included small chunks of coppas ham and was fecking delicious.
  9. Happy Birthday!!
  10. Well maybe we can set up a little lend/lease program for our southern Illinois friends. Now what would be a good fee to charge? Hmmm... I sure do get thirsty at night....
  11. Had to sell a few things first. Fang said yesterday they should be back in stock in 7-10 days. I'm really looking forward to this based on what I heard at ChiUniFi.
  12. Ordered HE-5 Ortho's this morning.
  13. Happy Birthday!!
  14. Happy Birthday Beely!!! :jbl:
  15. I'm in. I have Wham! and Black Oak Arkansas LP's just itching to go to someone!
  16. Thank you for your service.
  17. I just finished reading the Agon steam cleaning thread and thought I might try that. A HeadCase search had jp# recommending it. jp, do you still use this method?
  18. Roxy Music - Stranded Moody Blues - On the Threshold of a Dream My first new vinyl. A trip to Reckless Records this Saturday should dent the wallet.
  19. And the old Dual + Ortofon I bought was in that neighborhood as well. Of course I owned the NAD pre with phono already so that would up the total.
  20. I'm very happy so far. Sounds much better than I expected for a "budget" table and looks good to boot.
  21. As posted in the "Last thing you bought" thread, I picked up a Dual 505-2 today from Staurday Audio in Chicago. I wanted to start out on a budget, but wanted some confidence in what I was buying. This TT looked very clean and they had given it a very good going over. Warranteed for 90 days. They recommended an Ortofon 2M cart, either the Red or Blue. Staying in line with the budget I went with the Red. While setting it up they noticed an issue with a bad connection in one of the wires and fixed it while we went for lunch. Got it home and set it up. I have a very few old LP's and I bought two in good shape at Saturday - Aqualung and Sticky Fingers. Started listening and Jesus, I'm hooked. The turntable sounds very good, and the dynamic range in the albums just kept me grinning all afternoon and evening. I did some comparisons between the Aqualung LP and the 25th Anniversary CD I have and it is not even close. And my CDP is no slouch. I know now that this will be a first step and that better turntables will be in my future. But it sure feels good to handle LP's again and delight in the sound this format provides. I just really can't stop grinning. The new toy:
  22. Finally took a dip in the vinyl pool: Dual 505-2 with an Ortofon 2M Red cart. Got it from Saturday Audio in Chicago. It's in beautiful shape, fully inspected and refurbished. I'm a very happy person!
  23. Glad to hear you're OK Doug but at least in the fine tradition of Sir Jackie Stewart it sounds like it was a spectacular shunt!!
