  1. Children's Benadryl works wonders sometimes but check with your Pediatrician first. Benadryl is OTC BTW.
  2. Also, if your floor guy gives you the option and of course if you can afford it, I would recommend you consider at least four final coats of polyurethane. You might want to double check with Steve and get his opinion but my experience has been that some people try to save money here by only paying for two coats and then in a couple of years live to regret their decision. Oh, and belated congratulations.
  3. Did you use a primer coat? In almost every case, though I haven't had to paint over orange yet, a good primer coat ensures that you only need one or perhaps in extreme cases two coats to cover fully. If the floor refinishing guy has to sand down to the wood be prepared for sawdust every where and I mean every where. Each time we finished our floors we spent the next month cleaning up the dust in every room of the house. Joys of home ownership.
  4. "Wise beyond your years" Happy Birthday!
  5. Why did my high school girlfriend call me chisai katana or was is katanachan?
  6. Congratulations to you and your bride!
  7. Why don't you build them a multilevel cat house? Er I meant to say house for your cats?
  8. Maybe Shania likes headphones and well they could have a moment or something.
  9. So, what are you going to do with all that free time? Why don't you review some piece of equipment, either yours or a friends? That should eat up a few days. Wishing you a speedy recovery.
  10. THAT IS AWESOME!
  11. Let me introduce myself...my name is gauche (nee ronin74). Would y'all mind if I join the adult table, I promise not to eat too much or touch any of JP's stuff. You are on probation for six months. Hint- be sure not to post any Polka albums in the "What are you listening to" thread.
  12. I firmly believe that a lot of that something special I hear in live club music and with great speaker systems has to do with the secondary sound reflections from the room accoustics. Headphones can never reproduce IMHO, those very subtle refections of the mids and horns bouncing off the walls and ceilings. Headphones can produce "soundstage" but I always feel that there is something missing that just isn't live music for me.
  13. Sorry to hear about the injury, wishing you a speedy recovery. Try to make the most of any sympathy you can attract while you are on the crutches.
  14. damn!!!
  15. Sorry work and Head Case posting don't mix. AS is correct, scientists think sex is for making new scientists, they don't think sex is for fun. At least our friends don't, that is why I drink a lot when they come over for a bar b que. Quite entertaining after a bottle of Pinot you know.
  16. Mirumu, dc, great suggestions and thank you for your time. Initially, I would always consider a foreign buyer because I agree foreign audiophiles often get the short end of the stick. If the buyer was established on HeadFi or even better, established here on Head Case, I would make the extra effort. But he is not and he only has three Ebay feedback comments so unfortunately this won't work for me. I will keep all of your suggestions filed in the event any foreign buyer in the future wants to buy any of my humble gear.
  17. Why? So. Cal is closer to Israel than Nor. Cal so postage should be cheaper.
  18. Wow, thanks for the timely responses. I always struggle with my soft side wishing to help others out with this hobby/obsession and occasionally live to regret my decision. Interestingly, all of your responses were qualified yeses, meaning "I might do it but I would also take these precautions" no one said flat out "you paranoid fool of course it is safe". So my decision is made and I will respectfully decline. I don't need the dough that bad to take another chance even after reading all those CanJam posts which have me wishing. Thanks for your counsel.
  19. I need a little Head Case advice and attitude. I received a pm yesterday from the other site regarding the EC/SS I put up for sale a month ago. The buyer is new and has three posts and no feedback to his credit. The prospective buyer has offered to pick up postage and PayPal costs and wants me to ship the EC/SS to Israel. I live in Southern California and the thought of shipping something outside of North America has me a little concerned about the amp ever arriving even if insured or the buyer claiming the amp never arrived. I see substantial risk of the buyer claiming he never received the package and requesting a refund. Over the years and after reading so many horror stories I have come to the conclusion than with foreign transactions such as this one, the buyer has all the leverage and the seller is at the buyers mercy. I see red flags. Am I being paranoid? Thanks for your comments. Greg
  20. Well of the five scientists that I know personally, no comments about small sample size I know that, "sex" is only for procreation and nothing else.
  21. ..............well if you would quit buying all that wine...... No wait. What better way to enjoy all those tunes than Pinot, sunset, warm California weather perhaps a great Maytag Bleu Then again maybe I should take my own advice.
  22. I really hope you are kidding.
