  1. I was just poking fun at you, was going to include a winking smilie but I didn't see that option. I didn't imply that with a rude tone, but now I see where you were going with that. We're all so used to ~$300 headphone cables that $1400 is like a haymaker to the head.
  2. "That'd be a nice world: quiet, mellow, hungry, high people everywhere. Just Domino's pizza trucks passing each other. Every single highway: parades of Dominos. Let them get stuck in traffic and all our pizza will be free, you see. I'm a dreamer, I'm a fucking dreamer, I'm a dreamer Tommy. Tommy, join the band, I'm a fucking dreamer. What?" "Pot is a better drug than alcohol. FACT!"
  3. Fire up a Bill Hicks cd, sit back, and relax. I think you may be taking life a little too seriously right now.
  4. I can't stand people that list items as "NIB" yet still claim "this unit has not been used except for testing and audition". How is it possible for something to be new and used at the same time? Also, what moron tries to sell a $64,000 item with 0 feedback?
  5. Is that a real question? Which of the two were you thinking would be free?
  6. I'm either having a really bad dream or this is an early April Fools joke.
  7. Shit...I would wait until it had made it to its first stop in another city before even thinking about making a payment. If it were me though, especially after hearing about Mr. Hankins experience, Mikhail wouldn't be seeing a dime until I had the box in hand and everything was accounted for.
  8. "It is ridiculous to send me, a warrior, to dance at markets," he said, before launching an attack on his boss, army chief Anupong Paochinda. "The army chief wants me to be a presenter leading aerobics dancers. I have prepared one dance. It's called the 'throwing-a-hand-grenade' dance," he said. LOL! Hilarious. Maybe they can make his first dance partner Richard Simmons.
  9. The Patriot Post is crafted by a national editorial team headed by Mark Alexander and serves as a hard-hitting rebuttal to contemporary political, social and mainstream media protagonists on the Left. Statement of Faith Resolved by the Board of Directors that we, and the National Advisory Committee, Editors and Staff of PatriotPost.US, willingly and of our own free will, affirm our belief in, reliance upon and commitment to the God of Christendom, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We further Resolve, that the Board of Directors, National Advisory Committee, Editors and Staff of PatriotPost.US, affirm our commitment to advocate the Credo outlined in The Patriot's Statement of Principles, including the advocacy of standards of righteousness that honor God and His precepts for living, and adherence to a standard of truth, based on God's Word. That's all I needed to read to confirm this is yet another typical tired neo-conservative fucking joke of an organization.
  10. This new market for the PS-1's is just out of hand and ridiculous. I think I'm going to throw mine up on there as well.
  11. It's really easy. 1. Load up Internet Explorer (It's a Microsoft offer so I'm going to use an MS browser to complete the deal. I'm sure it will work just fine in Firefox but I'm not going to take any chances.) 2. Go to Live Search 3. Perform a search with the words "cheap wii" 4. Near the top of the screen you will see a box that is a different shade than the rest of the entire page. It is like a light grey/blue. In that box you will typically see three offers. They will read something like "Wii Cheap - Buy Wii Cheap. YOU MAY GET 25% OFF IF ELIGIBLE." Next to these three offers you will see a blue hyperlink that read "LIVE SEARCH CASHBACK" 5. Click on that link and it will take you to ebay automatically. 6. Once the page has loaded up you should see a LITTLE GREEN LOGO at the top of the screen next to the ebay logo that reads "Microsoft Cashback 25%: Must use Buy It Now" and there will be another little hyperlink next to the logo that reads "See conditions" 7. IN ORDER FOR THIS TO WORK THAT GREEN LOGO THAT READS MICROSOFT CASHBACK MUST BE SHOWING AT THE TOP OF YOUR SCREEN 8. Now simply search for any item that you are looking for, such as the ESW10JPN, but it MUST BE A BUY IT NOW ITEM. Those are the only auctions this promotion will run on. You can edit your search results to only show buy it now auctions by using the search options on the left hand side of the page. Also, for the cashback to work you must purchase the item and complete payment through Paypal within ONE HOUR of clicking on the initial link and loading of the ebay page. So therefore, know exactly what item you are going after, find it, and complete the transaction right away. 9. When you click on a buy it now item, you of course will be taken to the confirm purchase page. ON THIS PAGE YOU WILL SEE A BOX THAT SAYS CONGRATULATIONS THIS ITEM HAS QUALIFIED FOR MS CASHBACK and you will see the exact dollar amount that you will be earning on the item. 10. There is a maximum discount of $200 per item/transaction. 11. Once you are finished with the ebay transaction, go back to live.com and look for the link at the top right of the page that says "cashback". Click on that and create a Microsoft ID for your account assuming you don't already have one. Once this is complete you will be taken in to your account page where it will show the cashback you have earned so far and which items are pending and such. 12. Sit back and wait for 60 days or less until the cash shows up as retrievable in your account and then send it to your Paypal account for withdrawal in to your bank account. Hope this helps a bit.
  12. I've been keeping track and the demand has caused the price to rise in the last six months. They're now fetching about $2400-2500 minimum, with some willing to pay upwards of $2800-3000.
  13. I also own an ED9, and it's just sitting around collecting dust. I need to throw it up on ebay while this cashback thing is going on. To my ears, both the L3000 and PS1 are noticeably a tier or three higher in performance than the Edition 9. The ED9 has an initial wow factor, especially if you're coming from a lower end Ultrasone(I used to own a PL750, prior to acquiring the ED9), but after comparing them back to back with either the PS1 or L3000 I'm just not motivated to use them in the slightest. They have very pleasant highs and excellent bass, but their midrange just ain't right. Their worst trait is their tone though, or lack thereof, and that is the major dealbreaker for me. They could have been an outstanding headphone. They have fantastic balance, and amazing low level detail retrieval and detail presentation, but in the end the music just doesn't feel right coming out of them. Something just feels off and it never gets my toes tapping. The tone, body, and soul to the music is just missing. If I had bought them before ever having been exposed to the L3000/PS1 then I would have ignorantly been in bliss.
  14. Exactly how I felt upon first receiving them. Having spent so many months with my PS1's, initially the L3000's were not that impressive. Immediately I noticed the darker sound signature, compared to the PS1 highs which I love, and was a little turned off and disappointed. I could tell right away that the midrange and bass were definitely to my liking, but the highs left a lot to be desired. What really struck me though was how good their tone was. I sat back and decided to devote a few hours to them, and ended up feeding them everything from Chemical Brothers to The Dead. About 30 minutes in to the ordeal I was wowed, sold, etc. The darkness literally disappeared somewhere along the way, everything came in to focus, and it revealed itself as a most impressive headphone. There is definitely some brain acclimation involved with the L3000. I liken it to the HP-1000. With the PS1 I can put it on and literally be right there in the music immediately, but both the HP2 and L3000 take me a few minutes to really notice and appreciate what they have to offer. I feel that these two specifically are not the ideal headphones of choice for evaluating during meet conditions, however I have no doubt that your initial impressions left you with the feeling that they were vastly overrated. Price is another debate entirely, and I understand where you're coming from when you bring up price and value, however I truly don't feel that these factors apply to the majority of the top tier headphones. The way I see it, they are by far the best bargain going. Why? Because they very rarely ever lose any value and almost always gain, at least until they hit a temporary plateau. So where's the risk in trying them out? As long as your do your homework and know what you should be paying for the headphone, you can literally but it, try it out for a few weeks/months, and then turn around and sell it if that time comes and not lose a penny other than shipping costs. Sometimes if you hold on to it long enough you end up selling it for a couple of hundred dollars more than you bought it for. Getting paid to own the top tier headphones for a period of time? I just don't see the downside in that. Yes you could argue that their current market value does not correlate with their performance, I would disagree, however with the top tier's one is always paying for that last 5-10%.
  15. Keep saving for that L3000 man. It's WELL worth the wait. The 10JPN's will be around any time in the future. Snag the L3000 first, then start the saving again for the other.
  16. It is. I clarified that with a conversation I had with him through audiogon using that same name. Now he also has one called "Lobster King". So many it's hard to keep up with. The guy, waddragon, is such buzzard. Reminds of a lot of what surfboardz was doing back in the day on head-fi before he got slapped with a Member of the Trade label and stopped coming around. Buys headphones up and then tries to turn around and sell them a week later for $200-500 more than what he paid. At least surfboardz had enough of a life to not create alternate user names and have conversations with himself. That is one pair of PS-1's I would personally stay far away from. There is probably nothing wrong with them, but I would feel completely uncomfortable doing business with this guy considering his recent past. I think I read somewhere that someone had been to his place to demo some headphones, and I know he recently purchased a TTVJ 307A, so he could probably be tracked down if there was an issue. Too much for me to worry about though. There will be other pairs to come along. The out of production headphones always seem to come in multiples when sales start to occur. Obviously the two on ebay are simply trying to take advantage of a market that doesn't exist.
  17. AD1? Is that the alpha code designation for the Aficionado, or another amp altogether?
  18. Very interesting. I feel sorry for that guy smilin at the top of page 15. What Brent did to him was shady to say the least.
  19. PS-1 > L3000 > GS-1000 > Edition 9 > HD650 > PL750
  20. How long have you owned the Havana Fing? Did you order it new or purchase it used?
  21. Congrats Jon! I'm familiar with the F1 and F3, but this is the first time I've heard of an F5.
