RME's take on the Duet, the Babyface
sorry for the derail I meant the RME Fire Face 400, this was their stand alone fire wire solution that I owned for about 5 minutes as it sucked balls sonically and quit working on day one

if it sounds like the FW400 I'd pass but maybe they've made some improvements

well so far the 007 has the 4070 beat in just about all categories. I could see maybe keeping both but I just don't know how often I'd really reach for the 4070s. Looking at replacement pads for the 007s anyone know if bluetins are the new thicker 007a pads or am I just better off paying the extra $25 and going with AC ll and getting the thicker back 007a pads for sure.

15 year old DAC, or almost brand new DAC for around 200 euro?
I loved my Micromega stage 2 cdp that I had from probably 95 to 05, dodgy drawer mechanism that squealed and opened and closed on it's onw accord but sounded great none the less.

Well my vacation time is booked, travel plans appear to be in order and I think I have a hotel room.

It is easily the best stage I have heard in it's price class and above, you'd have to go to a Doshi, CAT, TOTL Herron to best it. Considering the parts in it and the cost it is also a pretty great deal considering most places sell cinemag SUTs for 350 and they are included as part of the MC stage at $1200.

Just in case you haven't heard the ECTA is absolutely amazing and far exceeds other phono pore amps in it's price class. Craig has hit it out of the park with this version of the phono.

is audiocubes ll pretty much the only spot to get these other than fleabay? I'd certainly go for new pads as these are slightly compressed anyway.

What are you smoking right now?
Dan if you are up for it and weather permitting I could break open the stash for us, it has been too long since I shared a smoke with a friend. Had an RG a few nights ago and they were amazing. Maybe next weekend if you are around. The Piedras are great as they are dirt cheap and blow away most cigars that cost much more. I'd take them over an Fuente any day.

not really possible they do not really correlate to dynamics easily and comparison was be faulty in that they do not have the faults of dynamics I would compare them to. The k1000 comp to the 4070 leaves out the k1000 bass roll off at about 60hz and the 4070 is more detailed and faster without the peaky upper mids/lower treble. Don;t get me wrong I loved the k1ks but they are no nearly as good as the 4070s to me. Not sure what you could even remotely compare the O2s to in dynamics as off the top of my head nothing comes to mind.
