  1. 40. The university got a 69 though.
  2. When I saw the title I just assumed it was EdipisReks -- anyway, here's to a quick recovery. My dad had a similar tear and he was back to his jogging routine within 4 months or so.
  3. Nevermind. I found a solution that is just not worth the effort until my D:/ drive starts getting full. Here it is for those interested: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=179315&page=3
  4. Hi all, I have recently been optimizing my laptop for better performance. At the onset, I reinstalled Windows (Vista Business 32bit) sans bloatware using two partitions, planning to put the OS and programs on the C:/ partition and all data on the D:/ partition. I noticed that I only had the option for giving the C:/ partition 60% of my 160GB drive. I figured this must have been necessary, but this turned out to be far from the case. The partition is not even half full, and I don't plan to install too many new programs in the future, maybe 5-10GB more at the most, so I don't need 40GB of free space. I wanted to reduce the drive in size by about 25% and give this space to the D:/ drive. Moving the space to unallocated space was easy, but I can't get it added to the D:/ drive via any of the Windows methods. I have downloaded a program called BootIt Next Generation, but I'm having trouble figuring it out. Before I do anything that will destroy my system, do any of you have any advice? Oh, and yes, my D:/ partition is backed up.
  5. Thanks. There's a somewhat interesting story to tell but I'll have to find the time later.
  6. Hangover averted with 800mg of ibuprofen and a tall, cold glass of water.

    I'm an asshat

To be fair, this could be meant as a grape skin chopper.
  8. An embryo was created which has genetic information from two mothers and one father, successfully making the donor woman's cell produce healthy mitochondria in lieu of the primary mother's diseased mitochondria. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/7227861.stm

  10. Almost always beer. Sometimes a mixed drink or two, and sometimes even straight liquor, but for the most part it's beer (and not the fermented rice-infused crap either ).
  11. What is this "snow" you speak of?
  12. Won't matter anyway. Currently, Russia has a mixed (i.e., presidential and parliamentary) system, and the PM is no more than a figurehead. Putin's party has an overwhelming majority in the parliament, so he will probably just become the PM and have all the power transferred to himself again, making the president a figurehead.
  13. I believe that large mass that just flew over your head was a large chunk of sarcasm.
  14. Yeah, this is just another thing for the MCs to put on their r?sum?s so that their respective electorates will be even more inclined to vote them in than they already are (99% incumbency rate in the House). The fact that the vast majority of this country is Christian has absolutely no bearing on whether or not this is OK -- it makes sense from a political standpoint, but not a legislative standpoint (obviously). Since House members are re-elected every two years, they constantly have to worry about keeping the electorate happy, and so they pass this sort of crap all the time. It will probably stew in the Senate for awhile since it's not quite as important for them, what with their six-year terms. What really scares me is some of the bill's original text, which has been since nixed: "Whereas identify themselves as those who believe in the salvation from sin offered to them through the sacrifice of their savior, Jesus Christ, the Son of God, and who, out of gratitude for the gift of salvation, commit themselves to living their lives in accordance with the teachings of the Holy Bible;Whereas Christians Christians and Christianity have contributed greatly to the development of western civilization;" Oh, and as far as unfortunate truncation goes, check out the title of this thread on the recent thread list on the right.
  15. It's only homeopathic if you dilute the Hydrogen Peroxide in a 30X solution, shaking it back and forth among three dimensions at every stage.
  16. Humidifier and a microphone from Newegg. I might be the first.

    slow forum

So beyond priceless. I'm saving this.
  18. Wow, I am a social science major and even I can do that (had a programming class in high school). Pretty pathetic. Good luck with your search.
  19. There's really nothing to solve there. If all the questions posted were like yours, we wouldn't be having this discussion.
  20. Just in case he takes your advice . . .
