  1. So, here is the other side of the wall behind the TV - putting a receiver in a garage is either genius or the worst idea ever. I got a nice cover for it to attempt to keep it somewhat clean, but time will tell. Got the wiring as tidy as I could. with eARC I don’t think I really will need a remote. I am using two wires from an Ethernet run for a 12v trigger to switch over subs to HT duty and could use another pair to run an IR blaster if needed. there is a plate that can be installed on the Arlington box but I am not sure how I would get the wires out. I do imagine this will be a good source of A/C leaks during the summer time but not sure what I can do to make it any better than what I have. ... plus there is room for a garage turntable!
  2. Well, I wasted more time on this. Here is what I know. if I put a level across the top of the bracket, the top right I can slide two washers under the straight edge and the bottom right three washers. So I thought to myself, obviously I need to space the bracket out from the wall accordingly. Well, same exact problem. When I snap the TV in, the bottom right left is about 3/8” out from the wall (other corners are flush with the wall) and there is a decided bend in the panel The shadows from from the overhead lights here might offer a clue: if not here are some attempts to show the problem (this is with the washers spacers installed behind the mounting bracket)

  4. That’s a good point. Tables that have an easy cartridge alignment system (Rega 3 Point “system”) or fixed cartridge would meet this criteria.
  5. I agree glass isn’t the best material. However, taken as a system they do more right than wrong. Kinda like Harbeth’s approach to building speaker cabinets.
  6. I have a P3-24, Jim. I had a P3 before that. The new motor and the revised arm are both good improvements.
  7. Heh, I recently came back and noticed my turntable mat on the floor. My son took the “blank record off” before adding the one he wanted to listen to. I think the Rega entry level tables are nice. I wish I could just sell you mine but I am really looking forward to listening to it over the Holiday’s and it’s replacement isn’t going to be ready for a bit. Some motor experiments will be occurring over the weekend
  8. I made a thing taller. It took one BEI in Kreg screws to do it, and probably a better way to do it, but... - you know what they say, when you have a hammer everything looks like a nail. My record cubes will be just enough higher that I can plug my cleaner in behind them. (this is a view of the bottom) Depends what kind of tarp.
  9. The top is made to be used as a waste board. You can buy replacement tops. It’s a pretty handy piece of kit.
  10. The executives that decided to fund the show or the ones that decided to not distribute it outside of their own service? Because they are probably the same people.
  11. Well, yes. It’s kinda part of the business proposition. You can sign up for a free trial, binge and not renew.
  12. That’s what the track saw is for, bro.
  13. I learned something today that is probably super obvious to everyone else. The turntable speed should be set with a stylus in the groove. That obviously will alter the speed - something I didn’t think about until I thought about it.
  14. Does anyone have the LG GX model on the included slim wall mount? I am not sure if my wall isn’t flat or the panel isn’t flat ... but something ain’t flat.
  15. Seems almost unbelievable, but who are we to call you a “lira”
  16. Interesting source for belts and precision pulleys: https://shop.sdp-si.com/catalog/product/?id=S1086Y-PC-02
  17. Cool - I have a ES110 and would like to learn more about the Bluetooth MIDI - but it really is a great keyboard.
  18. I assume it’s used for over voltage protection? Here’s a good reference on the topic: https://www.tiffe.de/roehren/neon.pdf
  19. McMaster Carr sells custom order flat belts: https://www.mcmaster.com/rubber-flat-belts/
  20. I dunno, can i post this here? The leather was just an idea - making some matching wood pulls would be cool - maybe when things die down at M&O of course my speaker cables are too short, but going to do my best to get these playing tonite - I found some Romex in the garage..
  21. He’s just pushing you around and pulling your chain.
